Is there anything that you think makes your writing distinctive? That is, are there themes you return to over and over, are there phrases you use frequently?

I'm not sure how distinctive my writing is. It's very hard to tell that sort of thing about my own work because it's really hard to get the necessary distance from it. I do know that I often return to characters making the best of bad choices when there aren't any good options. I'm fascinated by what people do when things go wrong or, at least, unexpectedly. I'm also interested in power imbalances and how people negotiate those.

Yesterday I finished up two fics and posted them, and today I edited a chapter written some time ago and posted it to Ao3. The WIP at Ao3 is a bit further along at another archive, but that archive is shutting down, so I have been slowly adding to the story at A03. I'm almost caught up to the last written chapter, however, so I need to get a move on and write a new one!

The fandom I write in almost exclusively is Tolkien-based, and my readers tell me I am successful in making my writing sound like Tolkien. So I guess that's my distinctive feature!

My novel outline is looking pretty good today. I also thought a bit about the other stories I want to write this month, but didn't do anything concrete with that.
