WIP Challenge Check-in, Day 22 -- Sunday

Greetings at the beginning of a new week, the last week of our February WIP challenge month!  linaewen here to help encourage you and provide you with a setting to talk about your writing as we finish up the month and start a new one.

What kind of a writing day has it been today?

In an attempt to make already discussed topics seem a bit fresher, I am turning to an old friend, the Fanfic Flamingo to steer our discussions this week.

I did some editing yesterday and researched a couple of plot points I thought I had gotten wrong/mixed up and so had to track them down. Happily, I discovered I am good to go, so that helps in a couple of ways.

The current AU WIP that I am working on (which sadly has suffered from inattention for a long time) started as just such a one shot and it is the story "universe" on which all my other side stories are based. This flamingo is me in a nutshell. :-D

This is a rather timely macro, given that the fic I started posting today is exactly that: multi-chapter fic grown from AU oneshot.

I recognize that flamingo! Started as s one-shot fix-it AU fic over 3 years ago. It's now a multi-generational family saga with a still-to-be finished main story and (gulp) over 200 side ficlets and drabbles that came of world and character building. Maybe I can finish the main fic this year?

I resemble that remark! Most story ideas I think about for more than ten minutes tend to grow way out of proportion. I'm trying to trim down some of the worst offenders to something manageable so I can actually finish them, but it's a struggle.

Not a lot of writing today, but I've been reorganising my projects again. That's kind of like progress?
