Checking in on Day 30

It's the end of the week and the last day of April -- and I'm almost too late for a check in post for the day! But we'll have one anyway. ;-)

So, tell me -- how did you feel about your writing efforts today?


Was it a happy and productive time of writing/research/editing/plotting?

Were you overloaded with other stuff, or struggling to break through writer's block?

Was it a discouraging day with nothing to show for it?

Did you meet your goals for the day?

Did you take a break to give your brain a rest from your labors?

I am commenting in this comm for the first time because I am ACTUALLY WRITING FIC!

I think that I got a stressor off my mind and was able to finally start writing again. I don't have word goals for the day, so much as I want to work on it at least a little bit every day. I want to finish this fic for the kink-bingo deadline which is May 15, so I don't default. That gives me 15 days for writing and beta, I don't think it will take that long.

It's been almost a week since I finished part 1 of my fic, and today I finished part 2. Yayy!

I... feel okay about the writing I did today. I had a flurry of writing energy a little while ago, which was nice--opening up a file of a snippet I pulled right off 750 Words & delighted to find that I LOVE IT. I mean, it needs a lot of work, but I really want to do that work! I dunno when I'll get to it, given other priorities, but yay!

I'm not usually a night owl, so it's been interesting writing this late at night. Kind of nice to reset my brain a little.

I haven't managed to write anything since my father was discharged from hospital. Being a solo caregiver has left me very little time for myself (and that time tends to be so much of the OMG-so-tired variety, I tend to vegetate - blah). Hoping to get my daily routine sorted a bit better so I can write and do other things that help me take care of me. ^^;;

And my story was so close to being done. D:

On the upside! I did write more words than my goal of 5,000 this month, but I did not finish a fic. Still, it was more than I would have done without the support and encouragement of this comm, so that is good, right? I might amend my May goals to try to finish April's fic, too.

Also, you guys rock! Yay for everyone! ☆

It's been a productive day! There was a writer's block break and ~800 words, which is pretty good for me!

Granted, they are NaNo-style words, and thus there will be massive editing tomorrow, but, as I enjoy editing...

I mostly took a break, though it was an enforced break due to much offline work that had to be done. *sigh* However, the day was not a total loss! While working on something else, an idea came to me and I was able to research it a bit and make notes for one of my fics, so that puts me a tiny bit forward in the process. Yay!

I was travelling, but it didn't stop me thinking about fic writing. I finally did that tinkering with the remix fic that I've been contemplating all week when I got online. Remix fics go live this afternoon/evening in US/EUR. Then they will be a week of 'who wrote what?' befoe the reveals. But now I'm concentrating on my other challenge (Blind Go). I'm staying with family this week and so its a bit complicated to get at internet - thats why I didn't commit to the WIP challenge for May.

Still, I'll try to comment where I can. The WIP challenge has been great for me in April: two fics finished. So I'd like to thank the Mods and everyone else who's participated and encourged both me and each other and say the community and challege are a great idea and I look forward to participating again sometime soon (June?...)

I started MaNoWriMo at midnight Greenwich time (it's fair because I am also planning to finish on Greenwich time, DO OR DIE, lol), and hit 1868 words before April ended in this time zone! Huzzah for me! *fist pump*
