Tell us how your day has gone, writing wise:

Awesome!
Pretty good.
On schedule.
Okay.
Like crap.
I took the day off.

Share your word count if you've got one; your current research (whether surfing the Net or re-watching/rereading your fandom source); are you refreshing your well of creativity by reading, watching TV,  seeing a movie or listening to music; or has real life taken a swipe at you?

Discussion questions:

Do you also write original fiction? If so, what genre?

Do you belong to any type of writing group or organization? If so, what kind (specific genre or strictly a critique group, etc.) and for how long?

Okay. Today was mostly a slack-off day, but I did my daily 750 words of which about 100 were fiction. The rest mostly consisted of planning future stuff that I want to write, which was good. \o/

I've written original fiction and lately I've started to get back to the habit of writing in it. The most common type of story I write is the good old 'slice of life', but I also like writing stories with science fiction/supernatural/horror-themes, and one of my big projects now is to rewrite an old NaNoWriMo. How that will work out, we shall see. :)

I've been participating in a writing group where you write texts for therapy purposes, but I've been thinking of possibly joining some other group. I'm pretty lethargic person in general though, so that's not for sure.

I am writing original fiction now! First time since I was nineteen and, um, a terrible writer. The fact that I got paid $50 for my last piece of orig!fic is a thing that should always keep me from getting swell-headed, I hope. It is of uncertain genre, except in being friendship fic, which is something I have always written and probably always will write. :D

My writing groups are all online - this one, Fic_Rush, and right now MaNoWriMo. I don't see a lot of people RL except my family, and I don't care to show them my early drafts... ;-)

I have no more wordcount to report yet, but I have signed up to do daily writing sprints for a week in solidarity with a friend on MaNo (who I actually met on the 'rush) - so hopefully I will get back into the swing of things, here! :D I am still very much in love with my characters, and it would be a shame if they got stalled out of having their story finished.

Still nothing, but I've set up a mini prompt list just a moment ago. I'm well on my way to creativeness! :P But I've looked around this comm a little more and got some help here. I'm also watching a few TV shows (Castle, Bones, etc.) that are giving me a few ideas. :) But for the most part, life is still teasing me....

Do you also write original fiction? If so, what genre?
I actually have fiction and original fiction posted on Dreamwidth and Livejournal. I've written romance, angst/drama, fluff, and just general stuff in both, but my original fiction (including poems) are usually the dark romance type.

Do you belong to any type of writing group or organization? If so, what kind (specific genre or strictly a critique group, etc.) and for how long?
Do you mean anything like FictionPress? No, I don't....

Writing is on schedule (finally!) Got 1,052 words down today! Granted, 300 of those were written during lunch (using TextPad on my phone), but I ended up adding an extra 752 when I transcribed the ones I'd written earlier.

Interestingly, this is the first time I have a playlist of sorts for the two main protags in my fic as a way of keeping the inspiration going. It's weird because I rarely--if ever--listen to music while writing. But there you go. Somehow, the music fits certain key scenes. Hee!

I don't write original fiction--though I used to back in high school. IIRC (I've lost all of the fics through the years from moving around), the majority was horror.

Nor do I belong to any writing group. Somehow, I've never felt the need to join one. Hmm. I meant offline/in RL. OBVS, I belong to this one *high-fives all of you*

Oh, "slice of life" is such a cool genre! Good for you writing it. :)

Also, thumbs up for doing the daily 750 words. Oftentimes, what gets the words flowing is getting into the habit of, well, writing.

"Uncertain genre" sounds very interesting, [personal profile] curuchamion and, well, there can never be enough friendship fics out there, right? :)

My writing groups are all online - this one, Fic_Rush, and right now MaNoWriMo.

Word.

I'm curious about writing sprints. What is it about them that makes them work for you?

Oh, endings can be tough, eh? Here's hoping your fic gets a decent (yet kickass one) *g*

I've managed to wring out 440 words today, plus doing some more editing and posting of this and that. I'm going to give myself an awesome, because 440 words is a lot compared to weeks of nothing! :-D I also have accomplished one of my monthly goals for this challenge, which was to post new chapters to an ongoing fic -- in this case, my Major story.

I remember having written something original when I was junior high -- a mystery story that ended badly because I couldn't think of how to end it! I don't even have a copy of it any more. Other than that, no original fic. Maybe someday! For now, I enjoy very much the freedom of being able to play with already established worlds and add a little something of my own to them.

Normal "writing sprints", the sort where you're online chatting and then write for about 20 minutes and then report in, don't work for me. They're too short, plus I have trouble concentrating when somebody's even metaphorically looking over my shoulder.

The ones I'm doing this week - which are working FANTASTICALLY, at least based on results from the first one (3600+ words in five hours, go me!) - are "I'm offline, I set a timer for half an hour, I write, I take a ten-minute break, I repeat twice more. Report in later." Technically I haven't been stopping at the timer if I'm in the middle of a scene, nor have I been repeating only twice more ;-) but it is a great way for me to kick-start, and the ten-minute breaks (with knitting) are a perfect way for me to jar a slightly blocked brain loose again after the end of a scene. :D

'there can never be enough friendship fics out there, right? :)'

WORD. :D

Story of my life.

(The fic I posted was 'only' 20k. BUT STILL.)

(Writing the novel now, hence the lack of posting over here.)

Good day yesterday, so I was in a good mood to write. I was actually once more doing some canon refreshing by watching a couple episodes of the series I'm writing and then wrote two different scenes. One scene was close to 300 word and another 400, so I got close to around 700 words done.

I used to write original fiction and they're historical fiction. I loved history and I would couple up with characters living in a particular time period and situations they're in.I don't have those stories anymore though as they're in an old computer and I forgot to save them. D: I'm considering going to write original ficiton again for either this year's NaNoWriMo Summer Camp or the normal November month and I'm thinking of doing a modern fantasy/mystery version of Faust. I need to make myself have time to brainstorm some ideas for it! XD

No, not in any type of writing group or organization in real life because I don't plan to get published yet. I'm content with writing fanficiton for now. This is a good group though to keep track if I'm slacking off with writing or not and also a lot of supportive people here! ^^
