I can't do anything fancy with this post, as I'm visiting in a place that has no wireless (for my own laptop to access the web), so I have to make do with dial-up internet -- which is so slow I'm lucky I even got this far!

Today is a YAY day for me -- because it's my birthday. ;-) I'm hoping to treat myself to some quiet writing time at some point today, but we'll see how it goes. Other than having the plan and the desire to write, nothing else has been managed. I do have high hopes for the weekend, however. I would like to work on my Big Bang story, if nothing else!

It's a MEH kind of day for me. I suspect, given that I wrote ~900 words on a Friday, when I am usually so wiped from work I can't do anything but doze on the couch & then watch anime, it should be a YAY day, but... I'm too tired to feel really enthusiastic. ;)

I think most of what I wrote yesterday is going to be wiped or revised, but that's all right -- I'm just trying to bang out a complete rough draft, no matter how crappy, of this long (for me!) story. Not quite there yet, maybe 2k or 3k words left to go? ^^;;; We'll see.

It has been kind of a meh day, writing-wise. I've spent much of it attempting to name an OC who just refuses to be named. (Truthfully, there's an extent to which attempting to find her name is procrastination for writing the thing, but she's going to need a name eventually!)

Eh, naming OCs. When I started planning my novel last month, every single character was "named" things like [11yoG] (eleven-year-old girl) and [knitting!uncle] and so forth. Their names mostly fell into place as I went along.

I know what you mean about the ones who refuse to be named, though. I'm still kind of dubious about Nell - it was just the best approximation I could come up with. Her real name's probably in another language or something, or one of those "creative" names I can't usually make up.

I'm going to fic_rush on LiveJournal this weekend! I'm, er, supposed to be rewriting and researching a Stargate SG-1 friendship ficathon story... but I just watched six discs of Deep Space Nine back-to-back, so my head's full of Odo and Worf and Quark and various other people being MADE OF AWESOME. So we'll see what goes down with that. XD

Definitely YAY. I think I have finished my queer_fest fic done! :D Or at least, it's 99% done, I just need to fix out an ending. And revise this fucker like mad because it's due next Saturday. (Or perhaps earlier, I'm going away over the weekend and if I'm not able to post then, I might have to hijack a Wednesday instead.)

I have broken the 40k mark. It's a stupidly long fic. Which is why it only really covers about 20 years of their lives. They kept talking, dammit, and I don't have time to write the next 40k, so I'm going to tidy this up, make it a complete narrative arc, and leave it at that. The rest can wait til later. I still have two big bangs to finish and they're the priority now. :D

I plan to spend the weekend editing. Imma print out this 87 page fic, park myself on the couch with a red pen, and edit like mad. And sort out an ending. That sort of thing. So then it might be ready for next Wednesday instead of Saturday so I can post it and go away, not worrying about it. And then I can spend next weekend in the country writing my other fics. :D

Have you looked at Behind the Name? It's my favorite name website, if only because of the random name generator which can come up with some pretty surprising combinations. Probably because it's random. :P

I did pretty much nothing writerly today. I did, however, do a bunch of other productive things, so this is all right. These days happen, and I still have a few hours before I have to go to sleep, so writing may happen before then.

No special plans for the weekend! If it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, it's because I had other things to do that were more important.

It was a meh kinda day and so far today's more of the same.

The only real plan is to reply to some unexpected feedback and to also start some research for my huge WIP which I was going to start yesterday. I'm also going to do a rough draft of my beta request and then post it on my LJ sometime tomorrow.
