Shh. Just pretend I posted this on Saturday night. What have you been doing?
— Thinking. Maybe a little, maybe a lot.
— Writing.
— Outlining, planning, and / or prewriting.
— Researching and / or revisiting canon.
— Editing.
— Sending things to the beta.
— Posting!
— Relaxing, taking a break, etc.
— Other stuff-ing. Look at the comment.
No question today, at least until the actual Sunday post goes up. Saturday is the day for posting snippets and the like.

Date: Tuesday, July 2nd, 2019 02:07 (UTC)I want to post a snippet, but I feel like I already shared this one last time? But maybe I didn't. I need to do a few edits (which I'm hoping to find time for this week - after I get worksheets made and my Every Woman assignment written), but this is part of the last thing I wrote when I had time…
"You don't look great," Traci commented. "You sure you're good to run?"
"I'm fine, I just didn't get to bed early last night. Too many reports to write up," Andy explained. It was the truth, if not the whole truth. Traci seemed to buy it, at least, and dropped that topic—only to pick up a worse one.
"Dov said you've been MIA at the Penny since Noelle and Frank's party."
Andy decided it was a good moment to start running like they had planned, and forced her legs into motion. "I've just been tired. Busy," she said between breaths, once Traci caught up with her. "There's a lot of stuff to catch up on, being gone so long." She figured she'd better go on the offensive. "How's Leo been doing?"
Traci smiled. "He's been better the last few days. We had a talk the other night, and he admitted he was angry partly because he felt like I was never there anymore. So I'm making sure I'm home every night now."
"Good for you," Andy said. "My dad and Luke both had a hard time with that one." Not that the bar visits helped matters with her father, all of those late nights wondering if he'd get home safely. She wondered why she'd put up with so much from Luke, given how few times he managed to go on actual dates with her without letting work take over.
"Sam's been really supportive, makes sure I get out the door on time."
Andy's answering snort lacked any real humor to it. "Of course he is."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Traci narrowed her eyes.
"Nothing," Andy said with a sigh. "I'm glad he's being supportive towards you."
"You just wish he could do the same for you?"
Traci's expression was too knowing and sympathetic for Andy. She slowed to a stop. "You know, I don't even care anymore. He wants to date Marlo, he can date Marlo. Whatever, I'm over it." She ignored Traci's raised eyebrow as she bent to re-tie one shoe.
"Does that mean we'll see you at the Penny next week?"
"I thought you went home to Leo every night," Andy said, standing back up and starting to run again.
"Dex has him tomorrow night," Traci explained.
Andy nodded without looking at Traci. She'd hoped the run would be more like it used to, just chatting about everything under the sun, but it seemed like they couldn't find something to talk about that Andy was actually willing to discuss. She was tired of talking about Sam, she didn't want to go into why she was avoiding the Penny… couldn't Traci take a hint and move on to other things? And part of it reminded her of the runs she and Nick used to take while they were undercover. Next time, she decided, she'd run alone.
