I think Tuesdays are for cleaning up the mess that Mondays leave behind. What have you been doing?
— Thinking. Maybe a little, maybe a lot.
— Writing.
— Outlining, planning, and / or prewriting.
— Researching and / or revisiting canon.
— Editing.
— Sending things to the beta.
— Posting!
— Relaxing, taking a break, etc.
— Other stuff-ing. Look at the comments.
Question: How often does your writing follow your prewriting? Do scenes always go the way you want them to go?

Date: Wednesday, August 28th, 2019 13:43 (UTC)Things often go according to my prewriting plan, but not always. I usually end up realizing I was trying to put too much into a chapter, or I realize I don't have enough and I have to add to my plan. Sometimes I realize I totally forgot about something important and have to totally rework my outline!

I have a general vision of how things are going to go, but since I write plotty stuff with a mystery angle the characters are mostly reacting to outside stimulus. Usually the big scenes match up, but I'm not going to force it if it doesn't feel organic to the plot.
