Snce it's Friday (or was in some parts of the world), lets have our weekly chat. How's the writing going today? Want to rant or rave about your fic? Something in particular you're struggling with? I spent all day yesterday really anxious -- there's some bad blood between us & our landlady (we're moving out soon & I suspect now we won't get our deposit back ;_; ), augh. I thought about doing my 750 Words just as a rant about that to blow off steam, but I thought that would make me feel worse, so I made myself write fic instead. I can't even remember what it's about now -- I suspect I'll open the file & be really surprised! -- but it was an improvement over feeling sick to my stomach over the landlady, so. :/

Overall I'll mark this week as a plus, b/c I posted the WIP that was really challenging me. Or, the first part, anyway, cuz on the advice of my beta it was hacked up into multiple fics (the other parts of which are still challenging me). Anyway, it's always nice to post fic!!

I wrote three fics this week, posting two, sending one to my beta. It's good to be back on track after after days of no action.

I figure I can wrap up my current WIP in about five more chapters. I really want to draft it up until the end before I polish it up and post it. I guess that'll be my project for the rest of the summer.

Uni is sapping my writing time, so I've not done much except a few last-minute edits on my AUBB fic. Attempted a few kink/pr0n fics too, but I didn't get any of those done either. Clearly not going so great atm. I might need to spend some time tomorrow on my kinked fic and try and get some sort of progress on it before my life gets even busier.

I mean, I finished posting Glitter, so that was something, and it's nice to finally have that up and posted. Now I just need to finish all those other WIPs I still haven't finished. D:

I got involved in a conversation about cakefic (long story - it's an obscure Doctor Who subgenre where the Master causes the Tenth Doctor to be naked, handcuffed to the Third Doctor, and covered in cake), and wound up having an idea for one. I'm still working on getting the Master and the handcuffs involved, but the rest of the concept is quite original (for cakefic), and I'm proud of it. :-) Also, Martha Jones gets to be a Competent Medical Professional.

It's only been two weeks since I set writing aside for a bit, but it feels like years! I feel like I'm really out of it as far as writing goes right now, so I have to somehow get that writing brain back that made me so successful last month. ;-) After doing the least amount of work possible on unpacking from a trip and other necessary RL stuff, I plan to spend today getting back in the mood for writing. This will probably involve rereading what I have already written, checking over my notes, doing a bit of research, that sort of thing.

Oh, I just remembered -- I did do some fic-related stuff this past week! I spent some time reading a book I got for my birthday -- The Samurai Way of Baseball by Robert Whiting -- which is a fascinating look at Japanese baseball players and their impact on America. It's got some great tidbits that have given me some ideas for a fic I'm writing in the Major fandom! Which is why I asked for it for my birthday in the first place. ;-)

No writing the past few days. I'm coming up on the first anniversary of my mom's death and it really has thrown me for a loop. Finally finished that 4-chapter WIP the other day and was tickled pink to post it - and then it got seven responses, when my multi-chaps used to get 10 times that much. It really took the wind out of my sails. I have bunnies to work on, but no desire to look at them. And my poor flisties (on the journal I use for private nattering) - I'm sure they're tired of listening to me fuss.

I'm hoping once Tuesday is in the rearview mirror, a bit of inspiration will come back.

Yesterday was a pretty busy day but I managed to write a very short ficlet and edit my springkink fic, so at least I did a bit of writerly stuff.

The past week I was able to get progress on my Big Bang and finish the second chapter. I'm going to take a short break on it to get through some prompts I owe my friends and then get back to the Big Bang fic.
