WIP Challenge Check-in, Day 11 -- Tuesday

Hello on Tuesday!  What kind of a writing day has it been so far today -- or if today hasn't gotten going yet, how did you fare yesterday?

       - I thought about my fic once or twice

       - I did some planning and/or outlining
       - I did research and/or canon review
       - I edited
       - I've sent my fic off to my beta
       - I posted today!
       - I'm taking a break
       - I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment

Tuesday Discussion:  Are you a plotter or a pantser -- or maybe a plantser, which is a combination of the two?

Today is one of my busy days, so if I get anything done, it will be a major win! I'm hoping to at least be able to spend some time in canon review.

I am probably a plotter, though sometimes if I have a really good plan and outline, I still find myself going off and writing by the seat of my pants! When that happens, I usually work up a new outline to cover the new ideas, though, so I think I'm pretty much still a plotter!

I think I'm more of a plantser - I generally have an endpoint in mind (or in the case of my extended slice-of-life stories, the next big event in mind), but how I get there is very much improvised.

Mondays and Tuesdays are the days I can pretty much count on getting no writing done (son has Scouts on Monday, I have class on Tuesday), but I have been going back and rereading the fics I'm currently working on so that I can see if I've forgotten anything that I started setting up in earlier chapters and also so that I can try to keep my characters consistent throughout the fic. (Before I started doing this on a fairly regular basis, I had characters in one fic react to events that had happened to the same characters in a different fic. It was Not Good.)

I wrote about 2 sentences, but my brain is too fried for anything more.

I used to be a total pantser, but too many of my plotty WIPs have stalled out because I don't know what the bad guys are doing offstage. I'm trying to teach myself how to plan these days.

Used my free time for a video game. Whoops, LOL.

Actually had a good day. Wrote over a thousand words on a troublesome WIP. I'm still behind on editing and posting, though.
