Hey guys! Sorry today's post is so late -- I'll just say I'm really under the weather today. I hope everyone else is doing well and being productive!

So, what'd you do today?

• Wrote?
• Planned?
• Edited?
• Researched?
• Sent to beta?
• Posted?
• Took a break?
• ...did something else? (Tell us in the comments!)

Discussion Topic: For the members with multiple fandoms, how varied are they? Do they all have similar genres, target age demographics, mediums, places of origin... or are they all over the place? For instance, do you mainly deal with grounded police procedurals, but have that one crazy cartoon you gush over?

Today I had a sudden out of the blue flash of insight into a character that will allow me to choose which direction to go in my current WIP. It's a bit in the future yet for that, but at least I know where I'll go when I get there. It actually helps to know now, so I can be sure to write in all the necessary details that make that future decision believable. No writing resulted, but some planning took place!

At this point in time, I have two fandoms I'm writing in, and they couldn't be more varied. There is a vast gulf of difference between Lord of the Rings and baseball anime! I actually am not quite at the point where I can write them simultaneously, but each provides a nice break from the other when I need something different.

Got around a little over 500 words of the fourth chapter of my Big Bang. This chapter is a bit hard to write because this is where a huge political talk (and later violence) happens, and I'm not that great with political scenes LOL. Probably after getting a few more hundred words or so in I'll get the ball rolling. I was suppose to also have my beta look over my story, but he came online late and not long after had to be away. x_x Tomorrow I plan to do more writing of my Big Bang before I go to work and then hopefully I'll catch my friend online and bug him to look over my story. XD

I'm only writing for two fandoms at the moment, but they're a bit varied. One fandom has the target age between early teens to young adult while another fandom has it more in the lines of young adult to somewhere in mid forties. @_@ I can easily write both fandoms at the same time, but one of those fandoms I'm not getting too many story ideas inspired yet. D:

I'm sorry you're not feeling well!

I wrote some more random OT3 stuff -- I seem to be writing at least one of them going to university, sparked by a comment my friend made, so since I've now written about this two or three days in a row, it might actually become a fic at some point.

All the fandoms I write for are anime fandoms (Tumbling being the exception, although given that I haven't finished anything for it yet, maybe saying "I write for" it is a bit presumptuous). I think in terms of audience there's a lot of overlap -- they tend to be about high school-aged people, whether or not they're realistic (er, I mean in terms of having magic or youkai or whatever). & they all tend to be super-sappy in some ways, ha. I don't tend to do really shonen-y sorts of shows, no big robots or whatever.

Not much writing because I finally got the keys to my new apartment, yay! And while I was packing, I found a printed version of a fic I thought I'd lost when the file got corrupted. That's pretty awesome too.

I didn't have much time all week since I'm on a business trip. But I managed to get a little editing & research done yesterday.

Fandoms... I think I have a tendency towards crime dramas, and also, to a lesser extend, SciFi. But overall, it's a pretty wide mix.

Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well! Feel better soon. :)

I did very well yesterday - TWO little (less than 1K words) one-shots. I love days like that.

Just one fandom for me. In fact, that's been true for most of my writing history. I'm very monogamous that way, all my focus and attention on the one subject. I'm envious of people who can slide from one thing to another and do good work.

Hi, hope you're feeling better now.

I don't do multiple fandoms (yet) so I'll pass on that, but its an interesting question. Perhaps this is how many crossovers are born.

I managed to work a way around an awkward part of a scene with humor. However, elsewhere in the same WIP, I seem to have a problem with the very first words of the fic. I drafted the opening scene ages ago and have seen it so often I can't focus anymore. I showed it to someone outside of fandom (originals writer) and they didn't like it. So now I'm wondering if the 'outside of fandom factor' was an issue or whether my beginning really sucks. I think I will try to come up with an alternative and then go pester another Hikago fanficcer with it so see which they prefer.

No writing yesterday. Not in the mood plus had tons to catch up with from being out of town for ONE day. :)

Did some reading though and some discussion on HP, book one.

I generally am involved in one fandom at a time. I don't have the time or the energy to juggle more than one.

I probably read fic in more than one, but participation is one at a time.
