Hey guys! Sorry today's post is so late -- I'll just say I'm really under the weather today. I hope everyone else is doing well and being productive!
So, what'd you do today?

• Took a break?
• ...did something else? (Tell us in the comments!)
Discussion Topic: For the members with multiple fandoms, how varied are they? Do they all have similar genres, target age demographics, mediums, places of origin... or are they all over the place? For instance, do you mainly deal with grounded police procedurals, but have that one crazy cartoon you gush over?

Date: Thursday, September 22nd, 2011 00:43 (UTC)At this point in time, I have two fandoms I'm writing in, and they couldn't be more varied. There is a vast gulf of difference between Lord of the Rings and baseball anime! I actually am not quite at the point where I can write them simultaneously, but each provides a nice break from the other when I need something different.

Date: Thursday, September 22nd, 2011 06:35 (UTC)I'm only writing for two fandoms at the moment, but they're a bit varied. One fandom has the target age between early teens to young adult while another fandom has it more in the lines of young adult to somewhere in mid forties. @_@ I can easily write both fandoms at the same time, but one of those fandoms I'm not getting too many story ideas inspired yet. Date: Thursday, September 22nd, 2011 07:12 (UTC)I wrote some more random OT3 stuff -- I seem to be writing at least one of them going to university, sparked by a comment my friend made, so since I've now written about this two or three days in a row, it might actually become a fic at some point.
All the fandoms I write for are anime fandoms (Tumbling being the exception, although given that I haven't finished anything for it yet, maybe saying "I write for" it is a bit presumptuous). I think in terms of audience there's a lot of overlap -- they tend to be about high school-aged people, whether or not they're realistic (er, I mean in terms of having magic or youkai or whatever). & they all tend to be super-sappy in some ways, ha. I don't tend to do really shonen-y sorts of shows, no big robots or whatever.

Date: Thursday, September 22nd, 2011 13:53 (UTC)I did very well yesterday - TWO little (less than 1K words) one-shots. I love days like that.
Just one fandom for me. In fact, that's been true for most of my writing history. I'm very monogamous that way, all my focus and attention on the one subject. I'm envious of people who can slide from one thing to another and do good work.

Date: Thursday, September 22nd, 2011 14:07 (UTC)I don't do multiple fandoms (yet) so I'll pass on that, but its an interesting question. Perhaps this is how many crossovers are born.
I managed to work a way around an awkward part of a scene with humor. However, elsewhere in the same WIP, I seem to have a problem with the very first words of the fic. I drafted the opening scene ages ago and have seen it so often I can't focus anymore. I showed it to someone outside of fandom (originals writer) and they didn't like it. So now I'm wondering if the 'outside of fandom factor' was an issue or whether my beginning really sucks. I think I will try to come up with an alternative and then go pester another Hikago fanficcer with it so see which they prefer.

Date: Thursday, September 22nd, 2011 14:56 (UTC)Did some reading though and some discussion on HP, book one.
I generally am involved in one fandom at a time. I don't have the time or the energy to juggle more than one.
I probably read fic in more than one, but participation is one at a time.
