Intro

Hey, I'm fairly new to DW, you can call me Mims.

I got dragged into writing a Harry Potter fic by some friends. While I'm very invested, it's hard to stay motivated cause I can't talk with them about it. I don't want to spoiler them too much.

So far I have ~10K, but it's going to be longer than that. Is it a smart idea to have a long fic as my first real project? Probably not. But I'm committed, the majority of it is already plotted and I genuinely want to see this posted.

Basically I need a place to celebrate my successes and complain when things aren't working out, and this looks like just the community for it.

Congratulations on finding a new fandom and your fic should be as long as you want it to be!

I'm not sure if it will be as long as I want it to be. But it definitely will be as long as it wants to be.

My first re-entry into fandom after between 5 and 10 years away from it was a 60k+ fic that I had a ton of fun with, and I hope you also enjoy yours!
