Date: Monday, October 31st, 2011 21:07 (UTC)It's funny because sometimes I am pretty idtastically mushy in my fic, but sometimes certain bits of mush just freak me out.

Date: Monday, October 31st, 2011 21:08 (UTC)I'm scared it'll suck and that the recipient won't like it. :(
Otherwise, today I piddled with a lot of different stories, some fan fic, some original fic.

Date: Monday, October 31st, 2011 22:33 (UTC)Scares - unintentional spelling mistakes, missing deadlines especially for challenges and running word counts.
1 - Spelling mistakes happen but it's usually after I've posted a fic that either its been pointed out to me or I've noticed it myself and thought grr.
2 - The missing deadlines thing has happened so much this year and even the challenge has an open round at the end of the year I always feel a wee bit guilty about posting during the open round.
3 - Running word count when I'm writing scares me a little more than seeing the actual word count on a finished fic. I'm weird like that :)

Date: Tuesday, November 1st, 2011 02:26 (UTC)... wrote today. Changed the POV, but the stuff from the new POV is still interlude-ish.

Date: Tuesday, November 1st, 2011 03:38 (UTC)What scares me about my longest running WIP is that I've been writing it for years and I'm really just getting into the meat of the story. I'm still excited about it, but I definitely can't be content with one chapter a year. I wonder sometimes if I'll ever actually finish it!

Date: Tuesday, November 1st, 2011 07:24 (UTC)The thing about word count is interesting -- it's funny what bugs us in different ways at different times! As far as my own hang-ups w/word count (aside from giving up & admitting I am not a longfic writer ;), since I use 750 Words every day I'm writing daily, but... sometimes I forget I can write things that are shorter than 750 words! Instead of trying to stretch out what's probably a drabble, I could write a few drabbles for my daily words! etc. (Oddly I don't have trouble remembering I can write things longer than 750 words, ha...)

Date: Tuesday, November 1st, 2011 07:26 (UTC)... you could look at it as pretty amazing that you've managed to sustain your excitement about your longest running WIP for this long!! So hopefully you'll be able to keep going w/it!

Date: Tuesday, November 1st, 2011 11:20 (UTC)I'm scared of writing overly schmaltzy and of messing up the character's voices.

Date: Tuesday, November 1st, 2011 16:59 (UTC)For my Big Bang, I too am afraid of messing up the character's voice. Luckily my beta was able to help me out on that, but it still annoys me a bit that I tend to make that mistake time to time. Also, I'm pulling all the stops with the political stuff and worried that'll be a huge disaster. D: Also thank goodness my beta gave me some pointers on that at least.
