What's the next step for your goal fic?

& to start the month off, why don't you tell us about what fic(s) you'll be working on & what you think will be exciting &/or challenging about them?

I'm mostly going to be working on my fic for smallfandombang, I commented on the check-in post for the challenge earlier today as well. Might try and write something else too but I haven't really got the time at the moment for working on more than one fic. We'll see.

Exciting is definetly getting to do some work on it. Challenging is probably not getting to work on it and also stalling at around the 6100+ words mark.
The last BB I tried to do, I failed miserably because I got stuck at 6100+ words and couldn't get passed that mark :( slight insecurity there.

It definitely is, especially with coursework deadlines for uni thrown in to the mix. I'm not a longfic writer either, so it's going to be interesting getting over the 600-1000 words mark :)

Thanks :D

I managed to write & post 2000 words of commentfic. o.O I don't know what brought on this sudden burst of creativity, but I hope it doesn't stop anytime soon!

I'm hoping to edit and post the two stories that I've written the first draft of. Also, I hope I can get past the difficult spot in the fic that I'm supposedly writing at the moment - the fic suddenly wants to have a lot more drama surrounding the plot than I had originally planned, and I'm not sure I want it to get derailed that far! Oh well, we'll see. *g*

True to what I said yesterday, I started off mini-nano with a doodle of 400 words. I forgot how nice it is to sometimes just write without any plans or plot or direction and never having to edit anything, yay!

Then I also managed another 100 words on my current WIP. I haven't started on the goal fics yet - maybe I should watch a movie tomorrow to get me in the mood for the apocalypse.

What is a mini-nano? 25K?

It's a commitment to write a certain minimum number of words every day throughout November, but it's up to you to pick that number. Everything over 100 is fair. I did not pick a small number in the delusional hope I would impress myself later by over-achieving. Nope. Not me.

Hmm, goals for the month? I imagine I'll be working on some one-shots. But I've signed up for a BB of 15,000 words. It's not due until March, but I would *love* to get a serious head start on it this month - I have all of Thanksgiving week off, which should allow for some serious writing time.

I want to finish the story I started recently. And to edit the story I did not finish in September.

... and I wrote nothing today. Tried to think about the next turn of the story and mostly was worried and angry with myself for being a bad writer.

I'll be working on my original WIP currently titled The Sailor's Wife (it definitely needs a new title). It's a short time-travelish romance novelette that's about 35% finished (first draft).

The exciting AND challenging thing will be ironing out some of the plot issues and getting those scenes written.

But this coming weekend I'll be at a writers retreat with my four critique partners, so I may able to get a brainstorming session going.

I didn't feel like writing today, since I came down sick, so I took a break and watched more anime... I mean, did some canon refresh. ;-)

I've got several writing irons in the fire, and I'd like to see progress on all of them. One is a shortish fic for a challenge due midmonth -- a recipe fic, where I have to include a recipe in the story somehow. I've got an idea where to go with that, just have to sit down and get motivated.

I'm working on two fics in the Lord of the Rings fandom; one is AU and the other is a gapfiller -- both are multi-chapter. The gapfiller has been stalled for a couple of years, mostly because I'm having trouble writing a battle, but if I can get past that part, the rest will fly off my pen, I think. The other one is very long and has a long way to go yet, but the next chapter will be interesting, if I can just figure out how to flesh out what I've got in my outline. I know what I want to do, I just have to get it to "live" somehow so I can write it!

My other goal for this month is to return to the fic I'm writing in the Major anime/manga fandom -- that's the one I'm doing the canon research on. ;-) I actually think I can wrap this one up in a couple of chapters, though I can already see a sequel in the works. The goal is to finish this one before the end of the year when a couple of new OVAs for the anime are coming out that will deal with the part of the story I'm writing about. I'd kind of like to have my version of the story out there before I see what the anime folks come up with! :-)

As I recall, I don't think your Yuletide fic got jossed much, if at all. Not that I am an expert in the Major manga or anything -- I can't read Japanese (yet) so I'm guessing on a lot of things by looking at the pictures! A friend translated a few key panels for me so I have enough to go on with for my story.

I got off to a good start this month with 1027 words. My goals for this month are whatever I happen to work on XP Though if I were to make proper goals, I would like to get a chapter done of the evil WIP, and work on a story or two for my Draw With Me 'verse. I don't want to set loftier goals than that, because November tends to be crunch-time. (Also, I got one of my favourite games ever working on my computer and it's a huge time sink.)

Got a little over 1,000 words on my Big Bang! However, I realize the next chapter I might have to split into two because there's so much I want to put, oi.

For this month I'm going to try to finish up my Big Bang and also get started on my help_japan fic, both for FMA. Big Bang of course going to have quite a few political stuff going around while my help_japan one will be more filled with action, haha.

It's just been stress, stress, stress, and I'll be traveling soon. (Which is why I can't sleep even though it is 2 am here.)

I just want to work on my Azazel/Charles XMFC fic. That's all. Please, brain.

Managed 230 words yesterday, a good start to mini-nano.

I'll mainly be working on my mccoy/chapel exchange fic, my smallfandombang fic and hopefully yuletide. My mccoy/chapel fic should not be too bad, I have a general outline and I'm a little excited about it. I want to get at least a rough draft done this month. Smallfandom bang, well it's the first time I've ever written for this fandom, and to make matters worse there is no existing fanfic for it so I can't even distract myself. Eek. I want to get the detailed outline and timeline finished as well as at least 1000 words of rough draft. As for yultetide, well I wish the nominations would get here!

On Nov 1st I worked and went furniture shopping - not a great day. Since then Ive wrote one of the few missing scenes left in my fic: 200w of a mud fight between teenage boys. From now on 'Islands' will be all editing. I'm going to try to warm up by drafting new fic alongside.

My goal for tommorrow is editing the scene 3-4 transition, which will probably be a break between chapters when its posted.

About my fic 'Islands' (fandom: Hikaru no Go) Genre: Teen (Pre-slash?)

Touya Akira is seventeen and his head rules his heart. He would happily have skipped being a teenager altogether were it not for Shindou Hikaru, his Go rival who he is secretly in love with and perpetually intrigued by. My story follows them at a 3-day Go conference where Touya struggles to redefine his relationship with Shindou and the other players of his generation, and comes a step closer to solving the mystery of Sai.
