Date: Tuesday, November 1st, 2011 21:17 (UTC)I can't talk about what fandoms those two are for, but I'm having fun w/them. I'd like to be able to do at least 2 more Treats for the exchange, but... we'll see.
I really want to finish my K-On! help_japan fic that's been malingering for months, but I have a cheerleader now for that one so hopefully that will help!

Date: Tuesday, November 1st, 2011 22:22 (UTC)Exciting is definetly getting to do some work on it. Challenging is probably not getting to work on it and also stalling at around the 6100+ words mark.
The last BB I tried to do, I failed miserably because I got stuck at 6100+ words and couldn't get passed that mark :( slight insecurity there.

Date: Tuesday, November 1st, 2011 22:35 (UTC)I'm hoping to edit and post the two stories that I've written the first draft of. Also, I hope I can get past the difficult spot in the fic that I'm supposedly writing at the moment - the fic suddenly wants to have a lot more drama surrounding the plot than I had originally planned, and I'm not sure I want it to get derailed that far! Oh well, we'll see. *g*

Date: Thursday, November 3rd, 2011 17:33 (UTC)Heh, maybe you could just rattle out all the drama for your fic to get it out of your system, & then see if you can cut it out in editing? (or maybe it'll turn out better w/the drama in??)

Date: Wednesday, November 2nd, 2011 00:10 (UTC)Then I also managed another 100 words on my current WIP. I haven't started on the goal fics yet - maybe I should watch a movie tomorrow to get me in the mood for the apocalypse.

Date: Wednesday, November 2nd, 2011 00:53 (UTC)... and I wrote nothing today. Tried to think about the next turn of the story and mostly was worried and angry with myself for being a bad writer.

Date: Wednesday, November 2nd, 2011 00:54 (UTC)The exciting AND challenging thing will be ironing out some of the plot issues and getting those scenes written.
But this coming weekend I'll be at a writers retreat with my four critique partners, so I may able to get a brainstorming session going.

Date: Wednesday, November 2nd, 2011 01:59 (UTC)I've got several writing irons in the fire, and I'd like to see progress on all of them. One is a shortish fic for a challenge due midmonth -- a recipe fic, where I have to include a recipe in the story somehow. I've got an idea where to go with that, just have to sit down and get motivated.
I'm working on two fics in the Lord of the Rings fandom; one is AU and the other is a gapfiller -- both are multi-chapter. The gapfiller has been stalled for a couple of years, mostly because I'm having trouble writing a battle, but if I can get past that part, the rest will fly off my pen, I think. The other one is very long and has a long way to go yet, but the next chapter will be interesting, if I can just figure out how to flesh out what I've got in my outline. I know what I want to do, I just have to get it to "live" somehow so I can write it!
My other goal for this month is to return to the fic I'm writing in the Major anime/manga fandom -- that's the one I'm doing the canon research on. ;-) I actually think I can wrap this one up in a couple of chapters, though I can already see a sequel in the works. The goal is to finish this one before the end of the year when a couple of new OVAs for the anime are coming out that will deal with the part of the story I'm writing about. I'd kind of like to have my version of the story out there before I see what the anime folks come up with! :-)

Date: Thursday, November 3rd, 2011 17:41 (UTC)A recipe fic! That sounds like a ton of fun!!!
Good luck w/the battle too -- I imagine that would indeed be quite challenging to write.
& yayayayay for the Major fic!! (Also, I know what you mean about wanting to write your fic before you get jossed -- I didn't even know the manga did the World Series, & now I feel like maybe I should look up when those chapters came out, to see if my Yuletide fic last year got jossed w/o me even knowing it!)

Date: Wednesday, November 2nd, 2011 05:44 (UTC)For this month I'm going to try to finish up my Big Bang and also get started on my help_japan fic, both for FMA. Big Bang of course going to have quite a few political stuff going around while my help_japan one will be more filled with action, haha.

Date: Wednesday, November 2nd, 2011 10:48 (UTC)I'll mainly be working on my mccoy/chapel exchange fic, my smallfandombang fic and hopefully yuletide. My mccoy/chapel fic should not be too bad, I have a general outline and I'm a little excited about it. I want to get at least a rough draft done this month. Smallfandom bang, well it's the first time I've ever written for this fandom, and to make matters worse there is no existing fanfic for it so I can't even distract myself. Eek. I want to get the detailed outline and timeline finished as well as at least 1000 words of rough draft. As for yultetide, well I wish the nominations would get here!

About my fic 'Islands' (fandom: Hikaru no Go) Genre: Teen (Pre-slash?)
Touya Akira is seventeen and his head rules his heart. He would happily have skipped being a teenager altogether were it not for Shindou Hikaru, his Go rival who he is secretly in love with and perpetually intrigued by. My story follows them at a 3-day Go conference where Touya struggles to redefine his relationship with Shindou and the other players of his generation, and comes a step closer to solving the mystery of Sai.

Date: Thursday, November 3rd, 2011 17:46 (UTC)Your fic sounds v. intriguing -- & I agree that Touya is ruled by his head, really, hahaha!
