WIP Challenge Check-in -- Day 6

Welcome to a new week!  I'll be checking in with you this week to see how you all are doing with your works in progress and other writing goals -- and hopefully keep myself on track in the bargain!

I'm going to borrow the poll from yesterday for use again today as a nice way to measure and share how it's going for you today:

Now that you have a few days of the new month behind you that (hopefully) have involved writing, how do you think it's going to go for you this month?  Is there anything you foresee having to change?  Are your hopes high for achieving your stated goals for the month?

*sigh* I haven't done anything today again. My drive to write seems to be very low indeed this month - no new plot bunnies, and the old ones all seem incredibly uninteresting. Sigh.

I am going to finish editing the story I wrote two months ago, though, dammit. And I'm still hoping the drive will come back - usually this kind of slump doesn't last an entire month. I've still got a chance!

The day is awesome as far as my fic is concerned. I haven't done any writing as of yet, but my critique partners helped me with several plot points on one of my novelettes. These issues had been keeping me from making any progress at all and now I'm excited about this story again and can't wait to get started on the revisions. :)

Time spent, roughly 60 to 90 minutes.

So far, everything looks good for the month, better even, now that I've got some issues taken care of/figured out.

I did a ton more editing for someone else (RL), but I think Ive cracked the difficult opening to my fic that I was struggling with.

I have no idea if I'll make my goal as I'm finding it hard to judge how much editiing work there is in fact to do on it.

The day's been all right. I sent a fic off to beta, which is always totally exciting (if nervewracking), & I've realized I'm pretty close to being done w/my Kaleidoscope fic & hopefully also a few Treats for the exchange! But then I remembered my main fic still desperately needs an ending, & they all need titles. >_< Made headway on the ending; still stymied for all the titles, sob.

I didn't spend that much time on my fic -- probably just over half an hour.

Five words: Getting there!

So far, though, I've been pleased w/how this month is going. I feel like I could post a number of fics this month. I'd really really like one of them to also be my super-delayed help_japan fic too. >_< We'll see.

Ah, I just had another attempt at starting _my_ help_japan fic today...

Definetly in-between today, more bits and bats written that could be useful. Started a rewatch which I'm going to continue tomorrow because I stopped the DVD to watch the new eps of American Dad earlier :)

Spent a couple of hours with the fic, well the planning part but it's progress :)

Five words: pretty good

It's going good so far, although I had to get some uni coursework out of the way first but now it's out of the way I have a bit of time for my fic before I need to start on my next piece of coursework.

For the month it should be quite productive *fingers crossed*

Did have a slight holy crap moment when I worked out that I have 21 unused/unwritten prompts for prompt_in_a_box from this year's rounds, so I'm going to try and get a couple of those written before the 'open round' next month.

I don't think anything will have to change this month, unless of course RL decides to kick me in some way that is.

My hopes are quite high at the moment but of course they might not be so high towards the end of the month, we'll see.

Nothing doing on the main front - well, I keep thinking about what's going on there. Had another idea how to start a long delayed fic - wrote about five phrases. It may be a third or fourth start so who knows, but still.

It's been going well today. I can't really say how long I've been working on the fic since it was a case of on and off editing.

This is a somewhat odd part I'm at now. I feel like I could wrap it up by writing one last big scene, or I could just as well write it in a smaller manner and then proceed to different ending from there. The first version might feel hurried and unresolved, but the second could come across as unncessarily long. Not sure what to do :/

In five words: Why does this keep growing?

Regarding my goals for this month, I'm just going to put them aside until I'm finished with this one. Otherwise I'd probably never come back to it.

I think November is going to be a wash. I am hoping to channel energy into December!

I was actually suppose to edit the fourth chapter of my Big Bang done today as my beta just send me in her corrections and suggestions, but I suddenly got distracted by many things (online and real life) and wasn't able to make time to look over the edits. Hopefully after I get some sleep I'll be able to do some editing tomorrow morning.

I'm having mixed feelings over this month's goals. On the one hand it would be great if I can be able to finish my Big Bang quickly and then get start planning my help_japan, but on the other hand I don't want to rush the story. Guess we'll see how the rest of this month will go for me.
