Adding some more backstory for one of the fics in my series that focuses on Kathryn's "secret" tattoos. I'm aiming to post the fic this week even though I'm back on nightshifts from tonight for the rest of the week.

I use outlines for most things usually as a guide and to maybe figure out where something isn't quite working well.

I am huge into outlines! It would not happen for me without them :D

No writing for me yet today (all dentistry all the time, baby) but I plan to try this evening for a change (around Kdrama watching)

I wrote/edited today! I am still not ready to post this fic and it is doing intense psychic damage, ngl. BUT if I do this right, I should be able to finish it tomorrow AND write the 3 4 flash fics I need to do.

I... I don't outline anymore. I tried it a few years ado and discovered that if I outline with any useful detail, my brain will immediately file story under "Done" and I won't be able to go back to it.

I posted the third of five fics that I'm striving desperately to get done. (They were part of a challenge from AUGUST of last year...)

For the discussion question, for longer works, absolutely yes. I first tried outlining a few years ago as I was getting back into fic writing at all, and it was shockingly helpful, lol. It especially seems to help me with the "sagging middle" issue that seems to be fairly common.

I usually work from outlines, unless it is a super short fic.
