So sorry about missing yesterday's check-in post! I had a meeting and it threw me off for the whole day. :-/
Do you have anything amazing to report concerning writing from yesterday or today? Anything discouraging? Have a look at the following and let us know if you managed any of the following:

Date: Thursday, November 10th, 2011 17:32 (UTC)I used to have a special place where I wrote best when I lived in a big old house with lots of rooms. There was a room no one used so I could go in there and shut the door to get some peace and quiet. Now it's just wherever my computer is -- though I do have a desk in a wee office that is becoming my best writing spot. It has a comfy chair, a nice view out the window if I need to look up and it's removed from the TV and the radio in the other part of the apartment. It is currently messy, which is hindering me a bit in my writing.
Normally, I don't pay much attention if my writing area is not neat, but my apartment is small, and if even a bit of stuff piles up, it gets awkward. So I feel like I'm doing myself a favor for future writing projects by getting my house in order!

Date: Thursday, November 10th, 2011 19:40 (UTC)Clean doesn't necessarily matter to me. I either write in my bed, on the sofa, or in our home office. Just depends on the time of day. I don't do usually do very well writing in public venues like Starbucks or Barnes & Noble.

Date: Thursday, November 10th, 2011 21:48 (UTC)Today I got nothing done but I was in lectures till 4 and it takes an hour to walk home. I have got the DVD on with ep I'm using a lot for referencing in my big bang, not making any new notes tonight though.
I can write nearly anywhere so neatness and tidyness doesn't really bother me so much. When I need to be somewhere else and write I tend to walk to the beach and sit on a bench for a hour or so while I get my writing done, I only really stop when people walking dogs, let them get too close to where I am.

Date: Thursday, November 10th, 2011 23:43 (UTC)Writing-wise, I've had two very mixed days. Yesterday, I felt like getting rid of the entire fic and never ever talking about it again because there was no way I could ever finish it. And it was terrible. And sucked. And I accidently deleted the 200 words I squeezed out for nano-wrimo :(
But today I managed to flesh out the last scene so far and suddenly it looks doable again. Now if I hear back from my beta-reader, things might actually start looking good.
I'm mostly writing in bed recently and the biggest problem I have is my cat. She's not happy about having to share the blanket.

Date: Friday, November 11th, 2011 03:02 (UTC)I also did some beta work.
I have a few places I like to sit. One is at my dining room table and the other is in any of several couch corners and one big squashy chair. I write best when the space around me is very tidy. Sometimes I spend all my time cleaning and never get to the writing.

Date: Friday, November 11th, 2011 08:49 (UTC)My writing spot tends to be in my room, although when I had my laptop I would write in the living room (I can be able to write when my family is around...sometimes XD). I'm a bit of a clean freak so I would have my workspace all neat first before writing.
