Hello!
If you’re seeing this at the beginning of your day, what’s your writing plan?
- I plan on doing research
- I plan on drafting
- I plan on writing something new
- I plan on working on an existing piece
- I plan on sending off some writing to my beta
- I plan on posting today
- I plan on taking a break
- I need to sort out some Life Stuff
- It’s been a long week - and it still ain’t over. I’m going to make myself the best shaken martini Bond can only dream of 🍸
- None of the above, I plan to do something else (please do share 😊)
If you’re seeing this at the end of your day, how did the writing go? Did you do any of the above? If you didn’t, what did you do instead?
Optional discussion: What drives your passion for writing fics? Is it a ship? Is it a trainwreck ending that Must Be Fixed? Is it the canon world that you enjoying playing around in?

This was written 100% because I hope it's a scene we get in canon. (**) Most of my fics are divided between 'missing scenes' and alternate versions of scenes or episodes, but pretty much all of them are I wish they would have or Wouldn't it be neat if.
For the rest of the day I will try to work on both my pilot episode screenplay, and a short Buffy/Supernatural crossover where Willow meets Lenore the vampire (Amber Benson).
(*) "YOU WANT TO BE DIFFERENT!" Well, if my published writing is any indication, I certainly don't want to be popular...
(**) Don't know how likely it is with only two chapters plus epilogue remaining, but after over ten years and literally thousands of pages, I'm just hoping for Incase to recover from his recent hand problems so he can stick the landing. I love the world and the characters, and I enjoy seeing them no matter what they're doing.

Date: Friday, June 7th, 2024 00:19 (UTC)A big reason for me is fix-it. There’s nothing quite like a train wreck ending (or unexpected cliffhangers) to spur creativity and the urge to share. Another big reason is shipping too, especially if my ship isn’t canon. And another reason is characters!! If there are characters I love, I’d want to spend more time with them.

Date: Friday, June 7th, 2024 07:50 (UTC)Ooh, what makes me write fic.... I think it's a little bit of "D. All of the above". I definitely have a favorite character/ship in my main fandom, and I love the world around it (DC Comics, focus on Batfamily). However, I can be easily Fueled by Spite RE: canon, so that definitely helps.

Date: Friday, June 7th, 2024 18:43 (UTC)Haha so true. I was pulled back into active fandom and writing by spite slash fix-it fics: canon was an absolute trainwreck as it headed towards the 'resolution' and it was immensely fun as well as cathartic to not only rewrite the ending but also share a possible alternative ending with the legions of fans who were pissed off.
