Nothing today at all, augh! I was out of town yesterday for work (& no free wi-fi in the hotel, grrrr) & I'm absolutely exhausted today, alas! Maybe this weekend I can get back into writing actual fic again...

I do like writing prompts! I started off writing fic for a kink meme, so there's definitely something that appeals to me. Sometimes when I'm assigned a prompt (like for an exchange) it makes me stretch myself & my writing in ways I wouldn't have done otherwise. (I do like my own ideas too, though, of course!)

I wrote a drabble today!

I really like writing for prompts--it focuses me and helps me get writing done.

It's going. I forced myself to work on a specific section of my WIP and it felt good to accomplish that.

Discussion topic...prompts can be helpful and I have written from them before.

Okay.

I got about 500 words written today, and I liked most of it. :)

I am frustrated that I cannot get back into a certain story that I really, truly want to finish. But everytime I try to work on it, I feel like I haven't got the correct tone and pacing. It's all sketchy and frizzy.

I like writing for prompts, although I like the ones that are kink-memes better than fic exchanges. With the memes I feel like I can just take the inspiration and go where I want. With the fic exchanges I feel very horned in to make the requester happy even if I don't entirely like the direction that they want to go. i can write the story, but I don't have to like it. *g*

I'd prefer to write ideas I come up with myself, except that then, I'm the only one interested in reading it! At least the prompts have an audience of one.

I am reacquainting myself with canon for my Yuletide fic (feeling like a cheater, because how does 'rereading a book you like' count as 'working on my writing'?); also doing research on said canon by annoying people with questions like 'How would you feel if you met with such and such problem in your life?'

Also, my help-japan fic apparently is going to be worked on, like, a sentence every two weeks.

I need to reacquaint myself with canon... I might actually end up getting one of those 'Oh! What if...?" type moments that inspire most of my fics.

Researching canon is, in my opinion, valid research for any chance of writing!

(Nice icon, BTW.)

Mine recently are mostly of the fixit variety, but details still matter.

Thanks)))

Able to write out another 800 words for my help_japan fic! I'm still trying to figure out how to approach the story, so I need to get some brainstorming done so that I come up with more material.

I enjoying writing for prompts as it's fun coming up with stories relating to that. Some prompts are easier to write than others, though.

Writing? Oh dear...

I've written prompts; it can be quite good fun. Recently, however, I find one-word prompts don't inspire me. I think that times when I end up answering a prompt for something like a prompt table, I write the fic and then work out which prompt the fic fills best. Which isn't necessarily the best way to go about writing prompts, of course.
