WIP Challenge Check-in, Day 5 -- Wednesday

Hello on Wednesday! What kind of a writing day has it been so far today -- or if today hasn't gotten going yet, how did you fare yesterday?

       - I thought about my fic once or twice
       - I wrote
       - I did some planning and/or outlining
       - I did research and/or canon review
       - I edited
       - I've sent my fic off to my beta
       - I posted today!
       - I'm taking a break
       - I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment

Tuesday Discussion: Do you ever plan a writing break ahead of time, or do you try to write every day and take a break as needed?

I have not yet started my day but it will be a break today because I am always out and about on Wednesdays and have little time or brain left for writing. So Wednesdays are a planned break every week. Yesterday was not a planned break, but I did not get much accomplished in the writing line -- I did think about my fic, and jotted down some more notes related to canon review, so it wasn't totally a lost day!

I've been writing today, although I started pretty late.

I don't plan a writing break ahead of time, it's more the other way around. I plan the days that I'm definitely going to write on and make sure that I do it. There's no set time of day, but it's usually late evening. If I write on an unplanned day then it's a happy accident, and if I don't write on a planned day, I try not to feel too bad about it.

This morning, I did some research on medieval and modern training, exercises, and wrestling styles to edit a scene in the courtyard to be more interesting with better character moments.

I was thinking of making Sundays and Mondays times where I can take a break from writing. That way I don't burn myself out.
