Check-In: Day 16

Good afternoon! It's the beginning of a new week, and that means new goals to start and old goals to complete. First off, let's see how the writing is going.

How's the fic coming along?

Other points of discussions: Personally, what's your favorite part about the writing process? Does researching topics gets the gears turning? How about editing and talking with a beta reader? Does everything feel like its falling into place as the fic goes on?

So far, it could be better. So, I think I'm going to need to step back and go back to planning, and researching to expand my notes and outline. I also realized there's so many concepts and topics that I didn't think of while writing (i.e. castles having castle private libraries, where people would sleep, and figuring out the middle part). So, I'm going to be concentrating on that for now.

If you can tell, I enjoy researching and planning. I like to be 100% sure what I'm doing, and I'm not writing myself into a corner. Also, I learn something new along the way, and it helps to get creative with some headcanons for the characters. :D

Could be better! I am not getting down to it is the main problem, sometimes due to life getting in the way, other times because I am too tired to make my brain work at getting something going. A new week is always helpful for starting fresh, though, so that is what I hope to do!

My favorite part is research, I love research!

Yeah, I completely empathize with struggling to stick with writing ---because of life and/or other mentally draining tasks---. Hopefully, for this new week, life will settle down for a moment to get back at it. :)

Great! Just got the latest chapter back from beta and posted it. I'm down to the final chapters of a fic that's longer than anything I've ever written before and it feels a bit like I'm trying to land a jumbo jet with no training right now, but I just had a fantastic talk with my beta that helped a lot.

Average! I’m working on my Legend of Spyro fic rewrite, and it feels like it lost a bit of its identity in the fray! But I’m happy with the basis, and I can always work out the kinks later.

True enough. Nonetheless, hope the Legend of Spyro rewrite goes well. :)
