Hello everyone, I'm the third mod!
I'm Sibylle, Sib for short & please use female pronouns when talking about me. Up till a year ago I spent my days lurking but in August 2009 I decided to join LJ & participate as actively as I could (so I've been reading fanfictions since then). I joined Dreamwidth during Three Weeks for Dreamwidth.
My main fandom is Harry Potter, though I wouldn't say I enjoy reading fanfics in the HP fandom more than I enjoy reading fanfics in my other (numerous) fandoms, but HP is still a pretty big fandom and the sheer number of fics produced makes it my main. I have tons of favourite American TV shows & obscure (though not to me!) books. I'm mostly interested in gen, I have to say, shipping doesn't really concern me apart from a select few couples I think really work out better than others.
I've written a tiny bit - a longish one-shot which was supposed to be part of a series but really didn't work out (Harry Potter) which I'm not reposting anywhere ever and a drabble (Harry Potter again) which I wrote for a tiny 30-minute challenge which I'm mostly proud of (can be found here on DW or here on LJ if you want to have a look). Apart from that, nothing. I rec A LOT - I love reading fanfictions & commenting and I feel it's a really good way to learn what works and how it works.
Lately I've been really interested in writing a Gilmore Girls fanfic I'm constantly thinking about. We'll see :)
This community is really meant to be a way to help people who would like to write their first (or almost first) fanfiction but don't know how. I think it's a shame that 'being part of a fandom' often means nothing other than writing in it, or producing art for it - I think every fan, no matter how they decide to be a fan, is worth being considered.
Hopefully we can give one another tips about good (read, pressure-free and welcoming and good to start with) challenges to sign up for, set up goals for one another & in general build up a supportive community of people who take fanfiction seriously and would like to start a story :)
I really have to rush, I have dinner to prepare, but feel free to contact any of us (Drae, Johanna or I) about anything.
