Today was an insanely busy day for me (I finally managed to snatch ten minutes for lunch at about 4.30pm -- fortunately I had had a blow-out dinner the night before, so (a) wasn't hungry and (b) had convenient leftovers to quickly heat up before I had to go off to my next rehearsal).
I still haven't managed to proofread my first typed chapter, let alone any of the others -- this involves having the computer read it to me out loud while I follow along in the manuscript, first of all so that I can see how it sounds when read out loud and secondly so that I can spot where I made any changes during the transcription, whether deliberate or inadvertent; I almost invariably discover that I skipped a few words or half a line somewhere. So it's quite a slow business. I've proofread the whole typescript on-screen, which resulted in my staying up until about three am on Friday, but, but that is *not* the same thing as checking back against the original (much-amended) edit...

I have looked at the next verse of my ballad during all my various journeys today, and have quite a few ideas of fragments of lines, but no rhyme-scheme as yet. Also, the fact that it features a given name that is pronounced (and stressed) differently in English and in Russian is a bit awkward, because it doesn't fit very well into the metre in its English version.

And I managed to come up with a quick self-indulgent one-shot in bed last night as well, which turned out to set itself in a different (and a good deal more popular) version of canon, so might actually be worth writing down before I forget it. This one really should be short... if I can write it without being embarrassed by my fetishes or the dread of how other people's fetishes might choose to sexualise something that very much wasn't intended to be 'shipping'...

So getting that written might be a plan for this week, given that my last fanfic project is pretty much finalised at the moment (and can wait almost indefinitely for publication, given that no-one is going to read it anyhow.)

I worked on goals and planning for how to implement them today. I do need to do some writing but it is hard to fit it in with the holiday coming up. Even if I just spend an hour a day at it, that would be better than what I have been managing lately!

I myself have gotten a bit of writing done today after ages of not. Most of my attention has been eaten up by a video game that has gained about 100 hours in the last three months? Yeah...

But I'm pushing my attention back to my fic and playing with drabbles, and it's getting my juices going. I'm aiming to finish zero drafting my current fic because I really wanna work on it. Aiming for maybe 5000 for it? There's a lot of things I wanna cover, so we'll see where it goes.

I snuck in just under the radar of "writing consistently" by writing around 900 words today alone (on day 3 of a streak, aw yeah). I'm still not *done* done with this fic, even though it is due Monday (today), but it's close enough to bus pass that I should be good.
