I lost the manuscript/working transcript of my ballad (eventually located on the stairs, under a pile of post that I had hastily put down on top of it) and therefore wrote for my supposed one-shot instead :-p

I am not quite sure what this is turning into; it is threatening to develop an actual *plot* (why are the characters actually out here?) along with backstory events to precede the starting scenario, and at present largely seems to consist of description of the protagonist's surroundings, which is something I rarely write. I haven't yet reached the interactions between the characters that were supposed to be the original point, and if I had developed this with dialogue beyond where I stopped I suspect I might have ended up with a genuine adventure story, which is what has happened in the past... to the extent that the ignoble origins of such fics are long since mercifully obscured!

My writing was more of the planning and brainstorming kind of writing but I am closer to being able to pick up my WIP again after not spending time with it for awhile!
