Of everything you've written this year even if you didn't get around posting it, what has been your favourite and why? and also what has been your biggest achievement with your writing?

Date: Saturday, December 31st, 2011 20:10 (UTC)I'm going to give the discussion topic some thought and come back and share something later! It's a great question with which to end the year and I want to give it its proper due. ;-)

Date: Sunday, January 1st, 2012 02:11 (UTC)I actually wrote quite a few things I'm proud of this year, though none of them were actually my long-standing WIPs that keep getting neglected. But I think it's safe to say I'm most happy with my Big Bang fic Evil Undone. It's the first time I ever did something this big in such a short amount of time, so it was a real stretch, but I enjoyed the challenge. It's an AU of an AU, and was really fun to do because I could do pretty much whatever I wanted and it actually worked out.
I haven't quite finished posting it up at Ao3, but it is complete -- and I just noticed that I haven't tagged this community for that story, and I ought to, because I wouldn't have been able to finish without the encouragement of this group! :-)

Date: Saturday, December 31st, 2011 21:30 (UTC)My fave thing I wrote this year was From Blossom to Blossom to Impossible Blossom, my first Natsume Yuujinchou OT3 fic. It is so sappy & ridic that I almost didn't post it, but I did, & was so happy to find other OT3 fans (it's my most popular fic, surprisingly!). & having the confidence to have put out that story about those characters, I was then able to keep writing other fics about them, which I looooove doing.
Happy New Year to everyone celebrating!

Date: Saturday, December 31st, 2011 21:39 (UTC)I haven't quite met my goals for this month but on the other hand I did write about 9k words so I am pleased.
My favourite for the year has to be Blighted by Sin because it's the plottiest thing I've ever written and it just makes me glee and I got feedback that it felt just like an episode which was exactly what I was aiming for. The same one is my biggest achievement as well because it's actually got proper plot, it's 30k long (the longest I've ever managed!) and I managed to finish a bigbang! I think it still needs one last sweep but I am still ridiculously pleased with it.

Date: Sunday, January 1st, 2012 05:32 (UTC)My favorite thing I've written is actually what I'm writing now, for a simple reason - until I signed up for this challenge and got writing again, I had been going through a dry spell that had lasted the entire year. This is the only piece of fiction I have written all year, and I have this community to thank for it. It's been a blast! :D
As for my biggest achievement with my writing - it was actually responsible for me getting a job earlier this month! (So I guess since this comm has been responsible for getting me writing again, then by extension I also have all of you to thank for the job, too. OMG, thanks everyone!) It's still very surreal to me. But at least my dad has been having a laugh over all those years he told me that writers never amount to anything and to not give up my day job.
Thanks, everyone! I've really enjoyed being a part of the challenge this month, and even though I didn't make my goal, I accomplished so much more than I would have if I hadn't signed up. I hope next month will be just as great! See you in 2012. :D

Date: Sunday, January 1st, 2012 10:22 (UTC)My favourite thing to write was the still-unnamed story I started some time in August. I haven't posted it yet because editing augh /o\, but still, I had a lot of fun with it, and it's the kind of story I would want to read, which unfortunately is not often the case with what I write. (For some reason, I keep getting plot bunnies for stories I wouldn't ever voluntarily read...) That's probably also the story I'm most proud of, because I managed to finish it within a month with the help of 750words.com and this comm. \o/

Date: Sunday, January 1st, 2012 16:11 (UTC)Anyway:
I did a tiny bit of rewatching - a prompter suggested an AU where the characters have 'history' but pretended they don't. It rather made me overanalyze things^^
Best thing of 2011? Probably 'Islands' because it holds together as a long fic (the first Ive done) even though its not postable yet and even though it wasn't long enough to qualify for the big bang (I refuse to 'pad').
Accomplishments. I think Ive improved my understanding of fiction and gathered some good tools to carry on with this. They've yet to show fruit in the form of posted output, but then thats what I'm hoping 2012 will be good for.
