Discussion topic . . . So. When perusing archives or comms or whatever for a fic to read, what types of things in the fic headers or descriptions or author's notes will keep you from reading that fic?

The whole 'I suck at summaries just please read' drives me nuts. I am not very good at creating summaries either, but instead of whining one I use a quote from the first or second chapter. Maybe the author should try to see if a friend will summarize it for you. There are other alternatives out there. It's not that hard, people!
One other issue huge typos and grammar missteps. It makes me very leery when the first thing in the summary/author's note, before even the first paragraph of the story, is filled more mistakes than a text sent while drunk. Doesn't really inspire confidence in what is written after.
