Looking back at the day today, how did it go?

I'm going away for the weekend, so I spent some time today getting my fic notes organized to take along -- some are on my computer, of course, but some are also on scraps of paper and in notebooks that need to be available in case I need them. Other than that, I have only thought about my fic once or twice. ;-)

I have a challenge story due by Sunday evening, so my plan for the weekend is to have a writing marathon. That's my main writing-related activity I am hoping to accomplish. In addition to that, however, my son (who also writes) is asking for tips on doing outlines and organizing his research and notes, so he and I are going to have a wee writer's workshop this weekend. That will be fun!

::amused:: Today, I'm posting recs of things I've been reading and liked. Writing probably won't happen. This weekend, however, Written? Kitten! gets a workout again!

Today, I read over what I've got so far and tweaked a few things. (I've been slinking away from these check in posts, not wanting to admit, even to myself, that I've not been getting anything done. I'm going to try to do better.) I have to rediscover the character's voice as I figure out how he'd think and act when drunk.

I hope to write at least 100 words a day. My daughter will be around all weekend (including Monday), so I'll be distracted, but 100 words isn't a lot. If I can get it started on the weekend, I can continue it during the weeks, when she's back in school.

I've thought about my fic today, but that's about it.

I'm also hoping to help a friend get her website set up since she sold her book.

My writing-related activity this weekend would be . . . hmmm . . . I need to work on both my Narcissa fic and my original WIP.

Emergency job from a client=no time to write. Ahhhhhhh! (If I can fit in some words later today I'll post another comment, but I'm not terribly sanguine at this point.)

Over the weekend I hope to pick up the rate I've hit for the four days prior to this, and to finish another chapter of "Solstice and Equinox" and possibly a chapter of "Ovum".

I did nearly all editing this week and nearly all on the same fic. It kind of amazes me the difference in my writing (style and quality-wise) between the different parts of it that were written at separate sessions.

I'm not planning for the weekend - too many unknowns, especially work.

I've been working on some edits for a while tonight. It's definitely made such an improvement to the fic -- it's gone from various bits that were sort of related to a much more cohesive whole. Unfortunately, this has made it clear that there is still a big chunk missing.

I'm not sure what I'll be up to this weekend, but I really hope I manage to get some serious editing in.

I've thought about my fic a little during the few breaks I took from essay editing today, thankfully both essays are now done so I can breathe for a couple of weeks before the semester starts and get back to my fic.

Apart from a final spell check of my essays I'm just going to see how much I can get written in the next few days.

Want to get some writing done, more than just a drabble too.

Wrote another ~350 words, but unfortunately still haven't finished out the scene, because just as I was about to tack on the final few exchanges I realized that a joke one of the characters was going to make would actually be really unfortunate and kind of a dick move considering the backstory of another character that's present, so... I have to come up with something else now. Fnarrgh.

Unfortunately I have to work over the weekend, so I probably won't be able to produce a significantly higher word count than usual. But if I don't do anything else, I would really like to finish this scene. It's already three times longer than I thought it would be and I'm beginning to despair for it.
