Hello community that I found in my random early morning wanderings of Dreamwidth!
I think that I must be cheating as technically I have written fanfiction before, but I have never written anything of decent length. So, please help me fix this.
I am a serious fandom lurker. I tend to stick to one fandom though, and obsess over it wholly, and then jump to another fandom. So, I would say that, in no particular order of intensity, my current fandoms are Doctor Who, Inception, Harry Potter, and Sherlock. I hardly ever do anything with Harry Potter anymore though, except roleplay on IJ. I can remember starting HP chapter fics when I was younger, and never finishing those either. This seems to be a chronic problem!
If I write fanfiction ever, how rare a feat that is these days, it's usually shipping. I ship Moriarty/Holmes, Holmes/Watson, Arthur/Eames, and um - sometimes Rory/Eleven but mostly Rory/Amy. I don't actually have strong preferences for Harry Potter or Doctor Who ships as I so rarely read fanfiction in those fandoms. I don't even really read that much Sherlock. The lack of Moriarty love pains me deeply (says the crazy Holmes/Watson shipper in spite of what it means for her beloved ship).
Now onwards to the important bit: I am trying to write a Sherlock chapter fic. It's going to be based on book!canon and BBC series!verse, which means that I cannot tell you the premise or give you excerpts unless you have seen ALL of the BBC series up to the series 2 finale. This sort of puts me at a disadvantage as I desperately need some cheerleaders, and more importantly, a beta who will put up with my shoddy ability to hold POV beyond 2000 words.
If you have read all of this and would like to know more, I feel it would be best to set up some sort of PM conversation or e-mail thread. I do not wish to spoil anything for random fandom lurkers who may come across this community, as I did, at the wee hours of the morning.
Mostly I just want to tell someone my premise and have them tell me to stop writing (or continue, if you prefer)! Ta.
