How are things progressing?
Another fanfic flamingo today:

[Old fic you hate have reviews (Fanfic Flamingo) To delete or not to delete that is the question]
How often do you go back to your old fic, especially the very early stuff? Would you consider deleting it if it makes you cringe?

Date: Wednesday, January 25th, 2012 12:15 (UTC)Right now I'm multi-tasking editing-for-beta (and incomplete fic) alongside researching the basics of sailing. One of my stories calls for a family of three to go on a short boating expedition. I don't know a thing about it, so I'm starting with the basics.

Date: Wednesday, January 25th, 2012 19:19 (UTC)I wouldn't know where to find my older stuff, honestly -- the two archives it was on have gone down. But I'd tend to leave it up; as someone else mentioned, it's part of my personal writing history and also part of fannish history in its own very small way. And who knows? Someone might still come across it and like it! :D

Date: Wednesday, January 25th, 2012 20:56 (UTC)I considered deleting some of my older works, but decided against it as it's fun sometimes looking through your old stuff and then see how much you had improved now. There are times where after I finished and posted something I try to rewrite certain parts, but those I never follow through as I'm far more interested in doing a new story instead of looking back on an old one.

Date: Wednesday, January 25th, 2012 22:24 (UTC)I often go back to my old stuff, which is still up in some places -- and I still like it! There are a few things that are only posted in one place, and I have considered reworking some of them and posting them in more places as a back up. One of my big writing goals is to go back to my very first multi-chapter fic and redo it a bit, to fix some spots where the timeline is really messed up, and to write a new ending for it. If I ever start making progress in my other WIPs, I'll start up on that new project, as well!

Date: Wednesday, January 25th, 2012 22:50 (UTC)I don't go back to my old fic very often. It's not cringe worthy so it'll stay. I do still occasionally get notices from ffn that someone has favorited a story. I did get a review the other day from a very old fic. :)
