I want to finish outlining my CaseStory Big Bang piece, and hopefully actually start writing. I'm playing with a trial copy of Scrivener, but it's quite a complex program, and until I get the hang of it, it might be faster for me to just do my outlining the old way, on bits of paper. We'll see...
I'll also be writing my NCIS Weekly Drabble today and posting it tomorrow.
Can't believe January's almost over already - that's scary!
I've written ~1250 words on a new stand-alone short story, "Lost in Translation" (Garak/Bashir, NC-17). The first draft of some of it is available here.
And this weekend I will be attending a rehearsal for a ritual on February 1st, then working. Should be able to fit some more writing in there somewhere, though!
Just to post the fics for my remaining prompts for prompt_in_a_box, doing a final edit and word count of both at the moment and also get the rough draft of my fic for smallfandombang sent to the mods, need to do that by Monday night though as I'm off to Glasgow on Tuesday for 4 days and probably won't have much time.
Signed up for casestory today. Need to decide which way to go with that, been forever since I played in Killer Instinct land.
I'm planning to read through more of my back up beta's notes she did for my Big Bang and do some of the edits. Depending if one of my other betas (one for Big Bang, one for help_japan) get back to me soon, I'll get going with more edits. Otherwise I'll see about talking to a few friends over some of my ideas I have for Big Bang and if they're any good.
The writing session today was pretty good in terms of productivity; I think I have my yuri_challenge story almost ready, & I am also trying to wend my way through a second fic for my recipient.
This weekend I'd like to make similarly good editing progress on another WIP or two, but we'll see...
Yep, it's for the FMA Big Bang. :) The story's word count tops 34k already, but it isn't quite finished. I'm halfway(ish) through the climactic fight, and after that there's just some mopping-up to do... but doing fight scenes is like pulling teeth for me. I usually just don't enjoy writing them, even when they go well.
I reassure myself that, because work has been just as hard as fic this week, I don't have a specifically fic-realted problem - more likely that I've just got a lot on otherwise (half-term coming and music school concerts) and its slowing things up generally. Things will be better in a week or so.
I got another 500 words or so out today. I only need another sentence or two to close out this scene, but my brain decided to shut off right before I finished. Thanks a lot, brain.
My brother and sister both came into town for the weekend so I don't know how much writing I'm going to get done, but there are two nearly-done scenes I would like to think I can finish writing. If nothing else, I can probably at least get some editing done.
