I'm having a break.

What do I do apart from write fic? I run a forum RPG... and I re-enact (basically, dress up in funny old-fashioned clothes and play soldiers. It's fun! :D )

HUZZAH! As of last night, I have a draft of my Sherlock/Doctor Who story. \o/ It needs some tweaking, then it should be ready. So, tonight, I'll probably be editing and maybe posting, although I really should take the night off for homework. :)

Right now, almost all I'm doing IS work and school and being a crazy fangirl, but I also sing in a local queer choir (I'm on hiatus at the moment due to school) and work in animal welfare--technically that's my job too, but it bleeds over into everything else.

Doing lots of editing today and outlining but no real 'heavy-duty' writing, as it were. I'm trying to figure out where I'm going with my dark_fest prompts and I'm finishing up my outlines for the Bleach Big Bang; editing-wise, I'm reworking Chapter Nine's dialogue (the antagonist's lines are straight from terrible B movies) and sketching out how the last few action scenes are going to work.

I hope I get to finish Chapter Nine tonight but no real expectations there and I'm just as happy with what I've done so far today.

*facepalm* As for what I like to do- I work for a non-profit organization, which pays close to nothing but offers free theater tickets to its employees! (It's an Arts Outreach sort of organization.) I go every so often and by now have accumulated enough playbills to start wondering where I should put them all...

No writing so far today: I had a doctor's appointment early this morning, and I've spent the time before and since working on my latest freelance commercial art project. I'd like to hack out at least 200-300 words at some point but I'm not sure I'm going to have the energy.

Y'know, between writing fic and earning money as an artist I don't have a whole lot of time left! Some of it, though, is spent working as a facilitator for a local Wiccan teaching group and writing/running public rituals for the Pagan community. And I love to read: in fact, I go to bed an hour early each night so I'll have dedicated time to devote to the latest non-fiction book that's caught my interest. At the moment my bedside table holds "The Golden Bough" (rereading), "Love: A History", and "Streetlife: The Untold History of Europe's Twentieth Century"... aw, who am I kidding with that 'bedside table' jazz? The floor beside my bed is its own bookshelf, holding all my favourites plus new books I hope to get around to reading soon. :) (One of those books on the "want to read" pile is "Twilight", which is on its second attempt, because it's so hideously written I can only take a bit of it before throwing it across the room in frustration and disgust.)

Oh! Reading! Can't believe I left that off. Right now I'm working my way through the original Sherlock Holmes stories, because I am just that obsessed.

Reading. Duh. Yeah - me too! :D Not sure where I've put my copy of the original Holmes stuff, but I've got a ton of other things, too - though I need to dig that out and finish it at some point.

Ended up writing ~1075 words of outline/plotting on "Soltice and Equinox" and "Ovum". :)

As for what else I do? At the moment I primarily knit and play with my kitty. :-)

Yay knitting! Yay kitties! I have about half a dozen unfinished knitting projects lying around my apartment at the moment. Probably collecting cat hair, in fact.

Researching. If watching DVDs and making notes count as research :D no new words today but I'm not too fussed about it, resting has been more important.

I'm at uni and that takes up a fair bit of my time. I volunteer with a local Victim Support office and I've started doing my applications to be a volunteer police officer with Grampian police.

I read a lot, mostly real-life crimes and anything relating to criminal (forensic) psychology because that is my ultimate goal, career wise. I still go to my Roald Dahl books from time to time too and the biography of sport stars, usually rugby league players. I also read about dyslexia and dyspraxia because I have both.

I go walking along the beach most days and I feel very lucky to live within walking distance of the beach, I also go running.

My favourite sport to watch is rugby league, has been since I was about 8 (I got bored of football) - it's the only thing I miss about Leeds. I used to work for my team Leeds Rhinos before I moved up to Aberdeen.

At the moment I'm looking into starting a society at my uni for disabled students because there isn't one, or if there is one it is very quiet and under the radar :)

Since Marble Hornets ate my brain, I've spent the last couple of days trying to get it out of my system so I can go back to doing something coherent *flails*
In other words, no writing. Partly because I've been busy reading the series TV Tropes pages, and partly because I think everything I touch might turn into a Marble Hornets crossover at this point. (It's okay, I'll be sane by tomorrow. Probably.)

Yuujinchou Exchange (due Mar 17 - 1K word min): I received my prompt this afternoon and got a little excited. ^^; Now I'm worried the plot will be too large to finish in time. I will definitely need my ass prodded on this one! Current word count: 1,136

Help_Japan (due 18 years ago - 750 word min): Current word count: 3,666

As for me, I'm sort of boring! I work for myself, so I work a lot (both the actual work and then all the back room stuff like bookkeeping, advertising, equipment maintenance, and so on). I watch anime/read manga and participate in fandom both as a break from RL stuff and as a way to procrastinate. ^^;

That said, I do have three adorable dogs and one adorable cat that thinks she is also an adorable dog, all of whom I dote on.

Ooh! What type of dogs? I have a golden retriever and four cats, which, strictly speaking, I didn't plan on, but one never does with cats. I'm also fostering a Pomeranian right now, but I'm hoping she'll get adopted very very soon. :)

I have two bichon frises (who are actually mother/daughter) and one toy poodle (blue like a kerry blue terrier). My neighbors had a golden when I was growing up. I remember their kids would pass her over the fence (when she was a puppy, obviously!) and let her play with us in our yard. You kno, back when kids played outside, haha. Very sweet breed, but too much shedding for me!

As for myself, I garden! I'm not doing much right now because it's winter but I'm currently thinking on what I want to put in my garden this year. The weather's been kind of weird though so I haven't really gotten a start on the wintersowing projects. It's been bizarrely warm so I'm afraid of stuff germinating only to have them die when the cold finally arrives. Maybe next weekend.

Had send in my Porn Battle XIII to my beta and after I got back from work she emailed me her comments. Not only that I also got another email from Beta B from my Big Bang over her thoughts on some scenes I had written. I'll edit my Porn Battle fic first and I should be able to edit my Big Bang too.

Pretty much school and two volunteer jobs (one at a library and one at a city's fire department) are what's going on with me now. I do have a cat named Max that keeps me getting distracted though, LOL.

381 words of two porn battle fills. Yesterday was rather hectic so I'm pleased that I managed to get any words at all.

When not writing or working at the library, I'm either reading or watching tv (generally British crime at the moment though there is a fair bit of American crime, scifi and historicals in the mix), knitting (currently finishing up a drop stitch shawl that I am rather pleased with) or playing with the puppy.

Did some writing last night and feel all pumped about it. Have been working too much, taking on extra since my boss left. It's all good, though.

As for the rest of my time....what time? I'm in the process of moving and after working a full day - and more - I have to force myself to do some packing right after dinner. When I get too tired to do that, then I sit down and write. Probably not a good plan for quality writing but *shrugs*.
