Apologies for taking some time to follow up on my last post -- I've been in holiday stress survival mode.
Anyway, there were a few people possibly interested in running the WIP challenge for January, & some folks who wanted to know more about what it entails in general -- thanks to all of you for your interest.
So far what I've been doing has pretty much been putting up a signup post (like this one) a couple of weeks before the end of the month, with a reminder post or two before closing signups a week later. I would add in time zone to the signup questions, as it may make matching easier for people who want writing sessions, I've discovered.
Then I try & match people up as best I can based on what they want/offer, fandom, time zone, length of fic, etc. I post listing the buddy groups, post when the challenge starts, then do a weekly check-in post each week.
Obviously this schedule would need to be compressed slightly for January as sign-ups would be late, but that wouldn't necessarily be a problem.
If anyone would indeed like to go ahead & run the challenge in January, go for it! Let me know if you have any questions or if you come up with a better way to run things! Otherwise I should hopefully be back in February to help run the challenge then. Thanks!
