Hola, amigos!
TGIF, too! I am very happy it's Friday. It's been a long tiring week and I am ready to rest, relax, and write. How about you?
Since yesterday, how has your writing gone?
~ Awesome
~ Pretty good
~ No too bad
~ It could be better
~ Really really slow
~ It went
Word counts, chapter/fic posts, share your progress... Feeling ill, RL kickin' your butt? Share your woes. We're here for you either way.
Discussion topic . . . what are some of your favorite films or TV shows of all time? The ones you go back and re-watch again and again and again?

New kitteh prevented me from working on anything last night, but I have time set aside tonight to hang out and hopefully word dump a bunch!
Ah, too many movies. I love Princes Bride! And House, M.D. and Ouran Host Club and ...

Date: Friday, February 10th, 2012 16:47 (UTC)Funny you should mention "RL kickin' your butt", because "that time of month" has been pounding me into the ground these last three days. I've found myself wanting to write (more than just plotting) but unable to churn anything out, which is highly unusual, so plotting it is (and to be fair, I've got outlines now for fourteen chapters between two of my WIPs, which is nothing to sneeze at). Some of the plotting involved stretches of dialogue which will help when the actual writing of the chapters comes along. Yay!
As for favourite films/TV shows... "A.I.: Artificial Intelligence" is my favourite movie EVER (I've seen it thirteen times and still cry at the end every damned time), and obviously I enjoy "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine"; other favourite movies include "A Christmas Story", "Lilo and Stitch" and "The Matrix" series, and favourite TV series include "ReBoot" and "Knight Rider" (yeah, I know, real guilty pleasure stuff!). :)

Date: Friday, February 10th, 2012 17:09 (UTC)I used to rewatch 10 Things I Hate About You a lot, but I think lately my comfort rewatches tend to be various anime series, b/c I can watch an episode or two in a much shorter period of time. Though if I'm really in a mood I will watch an episode of the j-drama Tumbling too, even though it's longer!

Date: Friday, February 10th, 2012 17:48 (UTC)One of my most favorite movies of all time is Singin' in the Rain. Also the Kenneth Branagh "Much Ado About Nothing". I can watch either one at any time and just be joyful.

The Young Victoria! I know it's rife with historical inaccuracy, just like any other pretty period movie, but it's still, I don't know. I keep coming back to it. As for a show: Firefly. ALWAYS.

Date: Friday, February 10th, 2012 19:21 (UTC)And my favourite film of all time has to be Master and Commander: The Far side of the World AKA M&C. I can watch that and find something new in it almost every time. It's visually and thematically - and musically - absolutely wonderful!

Date: Friday, February 10th, 2012 20:54 (UTC)The one show I seem to be able to watch whenever/wherever is Cheers. It's hard to think of a single episode I won't sit down to watch if it happens to be on.

Date: Friday, February 10th, 2012 22:08 (UTC)Movies, god. Too many, really. I love Master and Commander (because; tall ships and Napoleonic wars, I am a sucker). I adore Treasure Island tales for much the same reasons (only, you know, exchange Napoleonic wars with pirates!); Muppet Treasure Island, Treasure Planet...
As for TV-shows... God. So, so many. Buffy, Stargate, Star Trek (TOS more than anything), Babylon 5, Andromeda, Xena, The West Wing, Firefly and on and on. Recently, of course, Criminal Minds and White Collar are my absolute favorites. My favorite guilty pleasures are the Sentinel (oh, so good for something so bad!), and MacGyver just because Richard Dean Anderson, even with a bad mullet and the worst in 80's clothing is still insanely hot when he's mucking about with half-baked science. And Children of Dune, the mini-series. Because a) it's Dune and b) hello there James MacAvoy!
Oh, and let's not forget the Nanny, which I'll still watch a couple of episodes of when I feel like something light-hearted, yet at the same time wonderfully angsty. It's like fanfic! XD

Date: Saturday, February 11th, 2012 00:11 (UTC)I have a really, really difficult time picking out favorite films or TV shows because I love all of them so much and I can't decide. I do have to say, there's an episode of Doctor Who (the first two episodes of S2) that I habitually watch because it feels good, much in the same way that ice cream and pie after a long, long day feels good. It's comfort TV. It hits all the right spots, I don't spend too much time thinking about it and I have pretty much all the lines memorized. Good, staying, hot stuff.

Date: Saturday, February 11th, 2012 10:13 (UTC)Stuff like CSI, Location, location, location, Taggart I will sit down and watch an episode whenever it's on tv, regardless of how many times I've seen it. Babylon 5 is one I like to have a rewatch of fairly regularly, so is Inspector Lynley Mysteries (which is probably my very favourite at the moment).
Generally speaking there is only one film (I'm not a big fan of films) that I will rewatch time and time again and that is You've Got Mail.

Date: Saturday, February 11th, 2012 19:03 (UTC)There are quite a few shows/movies I love. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Lucky Star, The Simspons (only certain episodes here and there), The Italian Job, Collateral, Lord of the Ring trilogy, and there are probably others I can't think at the moment.
