In the poll about the community's chatroom, IRC won by two votes. Therefore, the community has a semi-permanent chatroom on IRC. The network is irc.sff.net and the channel #writethisfanfic.

A handy guide to IRC here. It's the #yuletide channel guide, but the same principles apply. Just change the channel name.

NB! There is no official staffing in the chatroom.

I'm not sure when March sign ups will open, but I have to run out now for the rest of the day and I wanted to offer to do a week of check ins if I could (18-24 would be perfect), though I'm afraid if you put the post up later today I'll be one of the last ones to get there. I will sign up whenever that opens, but, yeah. *is a happy little anal bead*

There is a long and semi-boring story that ends with my partner phoning the girl I was betaing for in London to inform her that I was stuck out of state with no internet unexpectedly. In said conversation, my partner told her I would be a "happy little anal bead" to know that she knew I wouldn't be able to get her fic mailed back for a few days, which later became a tshirt slogan.
