Usually I require silence to write, but occasionally I have used songs to get into the right mindset for a particular fic.

Wrote and post a short fic here. Another 500 words on reverse bang.

I'm indifferent to music when I write, but I use lyrics to be titles, and I have written fic based on songs.

I'm recovering from being sick, so I'm on the whole lethargic, but at least I'm thinking about fic! I found myself rereading the very first thing I wrote and shared on the internet, as I'm thinking of redoing it. It's actually in good shape, just needs editing and some new chapters written to end it properly. I need to be working on another WIP like I need a hole in the head, but one can't resist the Muse!

I am finding that certain pieces of music help me concentrate better on my writing. I have made a "writing" play list and use when I need an extra boost to inspire me. I can't write if there are lyrics, though; instrumental only is what I want when music is needed. I've never written a songfic, though I once wrote some words to a tune I liked for use in a story.

Apparently Saturdays are my good writing days. :) I've managed about 1000 words today on "Denial", which, it turns out, is the next Defence Mechanisms story. I've never written hurt/comfort before, but that's what this is threatening to turn into, since apparently grave bodily harm is the best way to break through the walls these two idiot boys are constructing. :)

I use music ALL THE TIME. I spend far too much time putting together the perfect playlist for something I'm writing. If I want to really speed-write, I put a single song on repeat and it helps me trance out.

I was doing all right editing possible treats for the exchange I'm modding, but I got derailed as the evening went on -- the deadline for assignments was tonight, so I kept refreshing AO3 to see what assignments had been uploaded. I had some pinch hits to offer up (including for me, sob -- I'm the only one who got defaulted on w/o any notice from the creator, who I hope is okay ^^;;).

Sometimes I put the OST for the series I'm writing for on; sometimes I just let iTunes go on shuffle (which occasionally gives me good little bits of inspiration!). Once or twice I've done a playlist for a fic I've been working on. Mostly it's important to have music on when I write, but what it needs to be can vary quite a bit!

Oh definitely OST stuff! The Doctor Who soundtracks have gotten me through a lot!

No writing done today: I managed to produce some freelance artwork, and then a depressive episode hit like a ton of bricks. I'm trying to hold things together enough to get through the night.

Consequently, all I can think of in terms of music and writing is that I don't often use it, but I'm not up to remembering or trying to describe those occasions when I do.

Writing. I have about 500 on my main fic and 300 on a small mini-fic that came from something in the main fic. I want to get this done. I may be picking on someone to beta. I don't want holes. And I placed another bad guy in. But this one is canonical to one of the series.

Music. Background noise, a lot of times. If I don't worry about what's playing, then I can concentrate on writing work. I have prompted with lyrics, but the last thing I tried to write with them didn't get finished.

Done nowt today. Have been at a wedding, still am (the night tiem part) and there's been a few bits from the day that I can use including a great line from the groom :)

Music owns me. I always have music on (be it itunes, my ipod, BBM music, even the local station sometimes) when I write, sometimes I play instrumental pieces like the OSTs from Bhoot and The Artist (they get a lot of plays) to Motown to well everything because there really isn't anything I don't listen to.
A lot of my fic titles are actually from song lyrics and song titles. Some of my fics have come directly from songs. For me music is very important.

Hoping to get something worked on, maybe even posted tomorrow before I have to leave to go back home to N.E. Scotland. Not sure it'll happen but I sure can try to make it happen.

Er yeah this trip had been a flying visit.

I haven't done much actual writing today. I spent some time editing a WIP and thinking about whether or not to revisit some abandoned fics in the next month or so...

I get distracted from writing if there's music on, so I usually write in silence. ^^;

Posted my Big Bang fic (or at least the first five chapters of it, lol). Took a bit to get the coding ready and trying to resize the art I have gotten, so my brain is pretty fried. XD I might try to get some words for god_tier after a nap and dinner, but again my mind is dazed from trying to get some of my Big Bang posted.

It kinda depends. Sometimes if I have a lot on my mind I would lisen to music for a bit and then write as I listen. There are times when music does get distracting, so I would write in silence. I tend to write more when there's music, though.
