It's the return of the WIP challenge! This time we're going to see how it goes without buddy groups -- feedback indicated that it was hard, if not all of your buddies were able to continue with the challenge, to really feel connected to, & inspired by, other writers. Some folks have suggested just having comm-wide check-in posts, & obviously anyone can set up a writing sprint or session as well. So we'll see how that goes this month!
If you're interested, please sign up in comments using the form below. Signups will end January 31st (using whatever time zone you're in).
Copypaste below:
And now for the help wanted section of this post! Another helpful piece of feedback received was the suggestion of having daily check-in posts, where people could cheer or commiserate or get encouragement or whatever. It'd be really great if we could get someone to take this on for a week at a time. You'd just have to post, sometime during the day in your time zone, a quick sentence or two: "How's the writing going today? How are you feeling?" or whatever.
I'll volunteer to do Feb 1-5 & 27-28. Could we please have volunteers for Feb 6-12, 13-19, & 20-26? Just let me know please.
Thanks everyone. I'm excited to try this again -- in November it was super helpful for me, & I'm definitely feeling a bit adrift, fic-wise, right now, so hopefully this can help get me & some of you back on track!
If you're interested, please sign up in comments using the form below. Signups will end January 31st (using whatever time zone you're in).
- Level of challenge: 1 chapter, 1000 words, 1 fic finished, whatever you like
- Fandom(s) involved: if you know at this point
- What you're looking for from the challenge: this could be as vague or specific as you like: someone to be accountable to, someone to remind you to write, someone to bounce ideas off, etc.
- What you could offer other participants yourself: ditto!
- How people should contact you: DW message, e-mail, IM etc.
- Time zone: useful for seeing who might be up for a writing session at a time convenient to you
