It's mid-month and a Tuesday!  Is it looking like it will be a good day for you today?  How is it going so far in your world of writing?  Have you had a successful day, or has it been less successful than you had hoped?  Did any of the following happen?
  • writing?
  • research?
  • planning and outlining?
  • editing?
  • posting?
  • totally ignoring writing in order to do something else?
I'm glad to learn that so many are like me in that we have a number of WIPs we are working on.  I'm hoping to reduce that number soon, because I end up leaving my readers hanging too long between chapters when I'm working on so many at once!  But I like the variety of having several going at the same time, and the ability to choose which one to work on if one of them is giving me trouble.  However, choosing can be a problem at times!

Today's discussion is brought to you by the Flamingo Who Can't Decide:

How do you decide which piece to work on?  The one with a deadline?  The one that's most neglected?  Do you give them equal attention?  Or does your Muse decide for you?

I generally go with whatever one I feel most like working on, unless there is one with a deadline. I try to keep my one multi-parter moving too, though thankfully it has been the one I wanted to work on most a lot of the time.

The ones I only work on sporadically will probably not get posted until they are finished.

I wrote and posted a Deep Space Nine Garak/Bashir fic, "Tipping Point" and wrote and posted most of a Lethe!verse Megabyte/Bob story, "Kiss" (which is a direct sequel to "Roar").

My muse usually decides what gets worked on, and when. :) I seldom work on pieces with deadlines, but of course I'll pay attention to those first if they're coming due.

Able to get a bit of research and writing done for help_japan yesterday and today. Still totally unsure the direction I want it to go, but I'm getting there.

I tend to let my muse decide, but sometimes if I want to get one of the works written I would make myself try to focus on the story for the time being.

Hahaha, no. If I ever had the guts to let my WIP bits hang out in places where they could acquire readers, this question might have an answer; as is, I can only say "whichever one my brain selects for me, according to the mystic auguries of Psychic Fandom Brain Waves, random brainstorms in the midst of performing dull tasks, and what I had for dinner last night". :D
