What do you do when you get frustrated with a fic, apart from keyboard smash?

When I'm frustrated I broodingly stare at the document, then I open iTunes. Sometimes the writing comes so easily and then other times each keystroke feels cringe-worthy, lol.

Finished the editing on one of my goal fics! It onl took a ridiculously short length of time but I'm pleased with it. Too tired to post it tonight (would more than likely muck up formatting somehow) so I'll do that in the morning.

My approach to frustration seems to be run away and do something else.

Sometimes I keysmash; mostly I type something along the lines of ((blargh this should be a metaphor)) (or, of course, whatever it should be), and sometimes I just leave the sentence unfinished (often with a "t" on the end, for some reason) and go do something else till my writing brain comes back.

I got inspiration to fill a prompt in a fandom kinkfest (Homestuck) and was almost done, only to realize I forgot one event from the narrative and ack, my story probably out of canon. D: I think I might be able to edit the fill somehow, so I'm mulling over that.

I too pretty much will either work on another story or do something else if I suddenly got frustrated (like right now over the story I mentioned, LOL).

Add a section of inappropriate smut. Just random clothes-off-up-against-the-nearest-item. Then have the characters pick up and move on as if nothing happened. Later, delete the smut.

All I've been doing is thinking and planning. It's all been for DQ8. Worse yet, some of it is ORIGINAL stuff set in that world. Brr...I just don't know where to begin or what to do. >:(

Yes, it is, but if nothing comes from them, then
it's rather frustrating. Sometimes wondering WHICH
fic to work on can be a bit of a pain too.
