Greetings, and welcome to a new week! I hope it'll be a good one.
How did your writing go today? Did you plot, ponder, research, edit, write, or something completely different?
Discussion: It may be too early to say how the monthly challenge is going, but what do you think about your prospects? Are you confident that you can do it, or do you feel like you're about to run across a mine field?

Date: Sunday, June 3rd, 2012 22:19 (UTC)My monthly challenge goal comes due at the end of this week! The deadline for a challenge I'm aiming to complete is coming up on Friday at midnight and so I plan to have some 5,000 words written by then. However, it will definitely involve running across a minefield to accomplish it! I'm in the process of helping my dad move into assisted living this week, so that cuts into my writing big time. However, after the good time spent today plotting and pondering, I feel encouraged that I will be able to deal with both the needs of my dad in Real Life as well as the needs of my fictional characters! :-D

Date: Sunday, June 3rd, 2012 23:47 (UTC)I've failed all my previous challenges, but I have hopes for this one... if I manage to stick to my perfectly reasonable goal instead of getting pretentious about it :-]

Date: Monday, June 4th, 2012 00:37 (UTC)I still think I can do this. I've never missed a deadline like this, and I don't intend to now. I may not have time to get the fic beta read before posting, but I should have time to finish it.

Date: Monday, June 4th, 2012 07:17 (UTC)I think I should be able to finish at least one of the auction fics as the help_mindanao one only needs about one or two more scenes. Help_japan one I might be able to get the rest of the story finished, but I'm finding myself having a hard time focusing on that project at the moment bleh. We'll see.

Date: Monday, June 4th, 2012 13:58 (UTC)Once that's done I can focus on this months goals. I'm feeling quite good about my het big bang but my minerva fest one I've not really thought about it enough to be confident yet.

Date: Monday, June 4th, 2012 15:14 (UTC)Yesterday I made some notes for both casestory big bang and het_bigbang fics, just wee pointers to help me with the overall direction of both pieces (for when I get lost and have a brain fail).
This week I have family visiting and my time will be very limited but I'm going use this afternoon and hopefully some of the evening too try and get the final 600-700 words on my casestory fic and leave it a week or so before editing and also make a real start on my het_bigbang, so far I have a very skeletal outline for several scenes.

Date: Monday, June 4th, 2012 15:36 (UTC)Which means my goal for the monthly challenge (finish Pull the Stars from the Sky) is going to be tight. I've got 3 more chapters and an epilogue to go, so probably 20-25K words. I THINK I can do it. We'll see. :)

Date: Monday, June 4th, 2012 18:29 (UTC)Right now, my challenge is to at least write and post two (three is better!) chapters of The Jackson Legacy, a Percy Jackson fanfic before the end of the month. I need to get the first arc of the story done before the next book comes out on October!
