[personal profile] insignia posting in [community profile] writethisfanfic
Greetings, and welcome to a new week! I hope it'll be a good one.

How did your writing go today? Did you plot, ponder, research, edit, write, or something completely different?

Discussion: It may be too early to say how the monthly challenge is going, but what do you think about your prospects? Are you confident that you can do it, or do you feel like you're about to run across a mine field?

I plotted and pondered today and have a pretty good outline as a result. I'm hoping to actually get some writing done, as well, but we'll see how it goes.

My monthly challenge goal comes due at the end of this week! The deadline for a challenge I'm aiming to complete is coming up on Friday at midnight and so I plan to have some 5,000 words written by then. However, it will definitely involve running across a minefield to accomplish it! I'm in the process of helping my dad move into assisted living this week, so that cuts into my writing big time. However, after the good time spent today plotting and pondering, I feel encouraged that I will be able to deal with both the needs of my dad in Real Life as well as the needs of my fictional characters! :-D

I wrote a bit last night on my WIP for the month, and I think I'll have it in decent shape to post this next part before the end of the week. If I can keep up this momentum, I'll finish it before the end of the month. Which is good, because I'm signing up for [community profile] parallelsfic (small pan-Asian fanwork exchange! go check it out!) in a week or so, and I want to have this particular WIP done before I get my assignment.

I wrote one sentence, so I have officially started. I have to be done by the 17th, so I'd better make progress tomorrow. Starting this one is going hard because it's a crossover, and I don't know one of the fandoms as well as I'd like to.

I still think I can do this. I've never missed a deadline like this, and I don't intend to now. I may not have time to get the fic beta read before posting, but I should have time to finish it.

Got around/close to 400 new words on the story I started yesterday. I think I'm more or less done, but there are still a few parts I need to expand. I'll see what I can do about that tomorrow.

I think I should be able to finish at least one of the auction fics as the help_mindanao one only needs about one or two more scenes. Help_japan one I might be able to get the rest of the story finished, but I'm finding myself having a hard time focusing on that project at the moment bleh. We'll see.

I didn't get anything new on paper but I am feeling newly motivated and that makes me feel good about my chances this June.

I edited last night and sent the piece to beta. Only a few wee tweaks so it should be ready today.

Once that's done I can focus on this months goals. I'm feeling quite good about my het big bang but my minerva fest one I've not really thought about it enough to be confident yet.

I didn't sign up for this month because I have too much going on in RL again to fully commit but I do feel fairly confident I'll get 2 big bang fics done given how little free time I am actually going to have.

Yesterday I made some notes for both casestory big bang and het_bigbang fics, just wee pointers to help me with the overall direction of both pieces (for when I get lost and have a brain fail).
This week I have family visiting and my time will be very limited but I'm going use this afternoon and hopefully some of the evening too try and get the final 600-700 words on my casestory fic and leave it a week or so before editing and also make a real start on my het_bigbang, so far I have a very skeletal outline for several scenes.

I... didn't do a darn thing yesterday writing-wise! I had to work on some RL work, and other than that, I slacked off. It felt pretty good, at actually. I'm a little nervous about this week though, it's pretty crowded with RL stuff, so I don't know how much actual writing I'll be able to do.

Which means my goal for the monthly challenge (finish Pull the Stars from the Sky) is going to be tight. I've got 3 more chapters and an epilogue to go, so probably 20-25K words. I THINK I can do it. We'll see. :)

I think I may have written a couple of sentences, since I was too caught up getting distracted again. But I'm pretty positive that I will finish a chapter before the next week and I will send it to my beta. But I've also made a move to complete my other oneshot fanfic. I need to get it done, darn it!

Right now, my challenge is to at least write and post two (three is better!) chapters of The Jackson Legacy, a Percy Jackson fanfic before the end of the month. I need to get the first arc of the story done before the next book comes out on October!
