For discussion, tell us how many WIPs you have at the moment. Do they multiply like bunnies when you're not looking? Or are you disciplined enough to finish one before starting on the next?

Haven't actually done much writing yet today, just a drabble for a challenge community over at LJ, so I'll answer the poll later when I've had a chance to be more productive.

I have around 15 WIPs that I've started writing (I haven't actually started posting several of them though). I have a few more that are just outlines and plot notes. So basically they multiply like bunnies, and the slightest flash of inspiration sets them off.

However, I am usually able to pick one to focus most of my energy on. In the meantime the others remain more or less as side projects, something to work on when I'm stuck on the main one somewhere. About a month ago I set a goal of 500 words a day for my main project (which I have thus far been able to keep). After I get those 500 words, I let myself write whatever I want for whatever WIP strikes my fancy (or just collapse into bed and wonder how I managed to pull off 500 words again, depending on the day).

I'm having a hard time with RL at the moment; it's really preventing me from writing, and when I have time to write, I'm totally unmotivated! Grrr. Oh, well. Today's not over yet, I might be able to change my vote if I can get RL to stay away for a few hours.

I think I currently have 4 WIPs, possibly 5 if you count one that I finished, but it really needs a sequel. I seem to be unable to finish one before starting another, so I'd say they are pretty prolific and multiply on their own. One of the four is being held at bay until I finish at least one of my shorter WIPs, but it's not easy to ignore it. ;-)

Obviously I'm in the "multiply like bunnies" camp, but fortunately my readers don't seem to mind very much. :) (The number is actually higher if you count two ficlet threads in the Reboot Miscellany collection... yikes!)

600 words of Yu-Gi-Oh AU, and some character motivations sorted out! \o/

The bunny option. I've got the canon-compliant Toa Mangai story, the 'well what's happening on Bara Magna during The Kingdom AU that canon showed us' story, the headcanon for Kiina and Berix being siblings and the accompanying backstory, the AU where the Matoran who would have become the Chronicler's Company become Toa instead, a new seed germinating about an AU where his time in the Matoran spheres makes Takua lose his instinctive ability to conceal his natural white-and-gold Av-Matoran appearance, that Bionicle/Hero Factory crossover that ties the two universes together in spacetime and kills off all my favorite characters via time and time alone, my group of OCs and their questionable sanity in at least a couple permutations though a few of those are more compliant with themselves...

These are just the recent ones that immediately spring to mind, I'm letting the short semi!crack!fic about the Onu-Koro addendum fall by the wayside for now until I can think of something, and I've got a thing on the back burner about a coalition of Matoran and Agori who go off to find the Great Beings that I forgot about until just now.

Also they're all Bionicle right now. I wonder if I'm on a streak? Naaaaaaaah.
