WIP Challenge Check-in, Day 14 -- Saturday

Saturday has arrived!  What do you have planned for the day?

The weekend is often a chance to catch up or take stock and change gears.  Depending on how your past week went with your writing, do you have any changes you want to make in your writing strategy for the new week that starts tomorrow?  We're about half way through the month at this point, do you see yourself as still being on track for your goal(s) for the month?

My week has been a bit of a fail as far as new writing goes. I did research and outlined a bit, edited and posted old chapters in new archives but didn't try very hard to make progress in writing new words. I'm away part of the day today so I'm not sure what the day holds for writing opportunities. I may try to concentrate and see if I can get at least 500 new words written before heading off for the day.

I need to change SOMETHING so that I am actually writing instead of diddling around with nothing new to show for it. My main goal for the month was to complete a stalled WIP before the end of the month so it could compete as a finished work in a competition. However, that competition was cancelled and as a result, I lost most of my drive to push ahead and make myself finish the fic. I did make some good progress with it, so it's further along than it was -- which is helpful for getting past some parts that I was having trouble with writing -- but I really need to get motivated somehow to work on this fic. It's embarrassing how long it's been dormant and having it on my mind is keeping me from being able to write anything else properly.

Along with working on the actual fic today, maybe I'll also come up with some self-imposed deadlines in an effort to get back on track with this!

My week has been basically a long break from writing. I have finished a fic, but I still have a deadline to meet. I really need to stop procrastinating.

I've lost today to travelling cross country, sleeping and going to the rugby, very happy with the scores.

My target for the month was 1 chapter and I've written 2 so I feel like I can get chapter 3 started before the month ends. Unless RL kicks my arse that is.

LOL really need to get back checking in here. I actually did get some writing done, but a totally new project and not one of my goal fics. Had been working on a Homestuck fic I might use for god_tier's next round, whenever that might be (I think I heard it'll be coming in August, but I could be wrong). I might work more on it in a bit.

As far as goals are concern, I did get my fma_ladyfest fic finished and sent it off to my beta (waiting on her to finish looking through it). I also managed to get in contact with Beta A for my FMA Big Bang and she said she made some progress though didn't say when she'll have it done (I'm actually going to check up her progress again tomorrow). I need to get back to either my help_japan or help_mindanao fic eventually, but I'm unmotivated to do either or those at the moment.

I managed 456 words.

I'm off on holiday this week and am no longer fluey so I'm hoping to be able to sit and think longer which should see my word count jump a fair bit. I'm not so sure about my monthly goal yet but I'm crossing my fingers.
