Discussion question: Are you one of those who find titling the hardest part of writing? If so, what do you do to find inspiration or are you tempted just to call everything untitled, especially if its a short piece?

Date: Wednesday, August 8th, 2012 13:07 (UTC)Titles are hard. I tend to go utterly blank when the time comes to come up with a title. I usually pull out a dictionary or thesaurus and browse for a while. I don't always get a title that way, but it makes me think of things I wouldn't have otherwise. I have a list somewhere of song lyrics that might make good titles, but I seldom use it. Lyrics seem too specific or too long, and part of the strength of using lyrics is having them recognized, and my taste in music tends toward obscure folk music.
