The shower. Always in the shower. The best idea, or the best sentence, or even the best word choice comes to me then, and from then it's a race against the clock to finish washing my hair, drying off, and making it to a writing surface without breaking my neck before the inspiration evaporates. The same thing often happened during my old 1.5-hour train commute, so I finally caved and started bringing my laptop to write fic on the train. And I've been known to have a text file discreetly open at work to write in the slow moments.

But when I have a gaping Sunday afternoon, or a quiet Thursday evening, or a Monday holiday...I almost never want to open the WIPs.

I usually get inspired to write when I'm at work, just means having to remember it for when I get home. Sometimes something will come to me when I'm walking to/from home.

At the moment I want to write but having a badly sprained wrist means pushing the top end of my pain threshold to get it down when I do write.

Oh, Fanfic Flamingo, you know me so well. :-/

I tend to get inspired while at work. As it happens, I have a gdoc that's my plot bunny idea folder and, because I can open it via my phone, I'm usually able to add the idea before it fades away.

Usually, I can go back and work the idea at home. It does take a lot of poking and prodding though.

I'm so stuck on this fic that it's not funny. I had a week with no kid around and got about three words written.

I sometimes feel like I could write when I'm out doing something and have no way to write. Sometimes, at night, after I've gone to bed, I feel like I could write. It happens.
