Another guest question, and probably one that has been seen around these parts before, but I didn't notice it recently, so it is probably time for it again. How do you deal with writers block?
Just start writing whatever, putting on mood music, brainstorming with someone else, opening a WIP and hoping for the best?
I must admit, I am a "open an existing WIP and hope it inspires me" kind of gal. Sometimes I need to open 4-5 documents before I find the one that speaks to me, but it usually works and then I am ready to be creative again.
Is there anything that works the best for you?

I seems just talking and sharing enthusiasm for writing down ideas got my creative juices flowing.
At least I do not think it is a coincidence that once they went busy with real life I quickly stopped having the "high" that helped me previously. Then I got talking just briefly and bam wrote a couple of words.

SO if I really want to write, I will ask for comments in my journal and then write in-between answering them and that goes much better than trying to write with nothing else going on.

Date: Friday, August 31st, 2012 15:31 (UTC)I do like the "open various stories" until one pings system, myself, but it doesn't usually work for me.
So mostly - I just don't fight it. And do something else. And sometimes beat myself up about it, though I'm getting better about that. Sometimes telling people about my wip can get me really excited/inspired, but sometimes if I tell to much it's like I get it out of my system and I lose ALL interest. /o\
I think the biggest thing I do against writer's block is just to write consistently and stop caring about what I'm writing and just put words out. In a couple days it starts looking less like mindblather and more like a story again. :P :P

Just getting words on paper is such a key thing.
