How extensive do you research? Do you use just books? Do you apply your googlefu? Does it depend on the story? etc etc ...

I've managed a fair number of words. I consulted my beta readers to figure out what the point of view character would ask when presented with a character offering to answer his questions (I'm too embedded in the story to remember what he doesn't know or what the readers don't know).

I don't research much beyond reviewing canon. I've used Wikipedia a little and have occasionally googled things, but I tend toward fantasy and science fiction stories. I think I'd do more research on something historical or present day.

Did vital research = searched for lost file.

I do like ywriter but its multiple autobackups combined with my multiple versions was a recipe for chaos when I wanted to work on a fic I hadn't touched for months.

I haven't started with writing today, but I had an awesome writing day yesterday. :D

I research a LOT and fairly CONSTANTLY. Very very little makes it into my writing. But I feel the need to do it.

I have managed to think about my WIPs and I am hoping to actually write some words for them at some point today. However, there is too much Real Life going on at the moment and I don't dare attempt any writing until later in the day.

I adore research, and I do it all the time. I have certain websites bookmarked that are useful for the kind of research I usually need, but I am quite good with googlefu, so I can find what I want relatively easily. I also rely on book research, since one of my fandoms is book based.

I have written a satisfying number of words. There is one bit that I'm unhappy with, but I haven't found a better way yet to balance the character's lack of self-awareness with necessary exposition. It feels rather ridiculous as it is right now.
