WIP Challenge Check-in, Day 24 -- Monday

Hello on Monday! What kind of a writing day has it been for you?

• I thought about my fic once or twice
• I wrote
• I did some planning and/or research
• I edited
• I've sent my fic off to my beta
• I posted today!
• I'm taking a break
• I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment

For Discussion: When my son writes, he can't get going properly unless he has spent time world-building, both in his head and on paper.  What about you -- do you spend time building a world before you write, or does it happen as you go along?

I hope to spend some time writing actual words this morning -- we'll see how it goes! As for world-building -- even though my fic usually takes place in a pre-built world, there is still some work I need to do for parts of that world that aren't dealt with clearly.  I do tend to deal with it as I go along, however.
