Hello on Monday! What kind of a writing day has it been for you?
I hope to spend some time writing actual words this morning -- we'll see how it goes! As for world-building -- even though my fic usually takes place in a pre-built world, there is still some work I need to do for parts of that world that aren't dealt with clearly. I do tend to deal with it as I go along, however.
- I thought about my fic once or twice
- I wrote
- I did some planning and/or research
- I edited
- I've sent my fic off to my beta
- I posted today!
- I'm taking a break
- I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment

Date: Monday, February 24th, 2014 16:24 (UTC)It's important to me not to get too bogged down in the details of worldbuilding. What's important is the basic parameters that inform the characters' worldview, the rest is fun, but mostly window dressing. If I let myself get caught up in cuisine or fashion or local flora, I won't get any actual writing down. Only rarely will a story require anything as elaborate as a full ecosystem.
