Do you like to talk about your story ideas before or while you write them or does that interfere with actually writing them?
I do better if I have someone to talk to about what I'm writing. Some of that is that I do better if I can think that I'm writing a story for some specific other person who's looking forward to seeing it. Some of that is that talking helps me to clarify my thoughts and figure out what needs to happen in the story. I tend to write by the seat of my pants and to have little idea of where the story is going to end up, and talking helps me figure things out.
