Do you like to talk about your story ideas before or while you write them or does that interfere with actually writing them?
I do better if I have someone to talk to about what I'm writing. Some of that is that I do better if I can think that I'm writing a story for some specific other person who's looking forward to seeing it. Some of that is that talking helps me to clarify my thoughts and figure out what needs to happen in the story. I tend to write by the seat of my pants and to have little idea of where the story is going to end up, and talking helps me figure things out.

Date: Sunday, March 8th, 2015 23:49 (UTC)I often talk with my son about what I'm writing, especially if I'm not certain whether my idea will work. He will either confirm it for me or help me figure out what's wrong with it. We think a lot alike, so he's a very reliable source of input.

Date: Monday, March 9th, 2015 11:10 (UTC)I rarely discuss my ideas with anyone due to the superstition that talking about them makes them much less likely to get done. ^_^;
