Still travelling. Don't you just hate using someone else's computer? Their mouse, which in this case is a trackball (ugh!), their keyboard, which in this case is way too springy? I miss MY computer.
Did you:
Write?
Edit?
Research?
Post?
Have a rest?
Do something else?
How did today go for you?
Was it:
Awesome
Great-ish
Mediocre
eh, whatever, or
OH GOD I DON'T EVEN WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT?
Today's discussion topic:
Do you suffer a productivity slump in the beginning (when you don't necessarily know exactly what you're writing), in the middle (when the first flush of grandeur driven by a new idea wears off), or at the end (when you can't imagine how you're going to tie everything up)?

Date: Tuesday, September 25th, 2012 01:48 (UTC)UMM, I find the middle to be the biggest productivity slump, that's when I've been experiencing for the last month or so. The beginning = enough ideas to sustain my writing for a little while.
I haven't gotten to the end of anything "long" yet, but I suspect that by that point I'll know where I'm going with most characters/arcs/etc.
The middle is the worst for me. I've used up my initial ideas, but I'm not sure how to get everything from point A to point B in a way that's interesting, feels earned, etc. Mostly, I suck at plots, so this part is really hard for me, ^^;;

Date: Tuesday, September 25th, 2012 18:05 (UTC)I do tend to get productivity slumps at different points in the writing process: the half-done and nine-tenths done parts. That last-ditch burst of writing seems to be the hardest to overcome, when you have to convince yourself that the best fanfic is a done fanfic.
