How's the writing/brainstorming/editing/whatnot going to today, WIP-ers?

I'm in the middle of a very slow and painstaking writing session, agonizing over every line of dialogue. I have learned that I am not very good at writing arguments, but I shall persevere!

I had too much going on today -- it was one of my Saturdays where I had to be at work -- so I couldn't get to writing. But I did have things going around in my head that I'll hopefully be able to transfer to paper tomorrow. It's looking to be a nice quiet Sunday afternoon, and that's always conducive to creativity.

It's been my experience that a day away can sometimes be really helpful -- I hope that's the case for you!

It is grossly unfair that work is known to intrude on writing time. Good luck with getting it down; I am sometimes slack about transferring ideas to paper in that situation (or computer screens, as the case may be) and it's easy to lose track of them then.

Actual progress! ...of a sort. 1400 words so far today on an entirely new project, which I blame on discovering yet another BDSM AU last weekend. So far everything I have discovered in this trope has been for Stargate Atlantis, but I couldn't resist the thought of doing one for Final Fantasy VII. The idea is that dynamics (Dominant/submissive) are more important the usual gender definitions for a relationship - which makes it doubly ironic that this is probably the only time I will ever write Tifa/Cloud. It's going to be a long one, anyway, so it's probably just as well the I still have my upcoming time off to get my stated goal of three complete fics done. I doubt this will get finished any time soon.

(Gotta love SGA -- whatever the AU, you can bet there's an SGA fic for it.) I don't know anything about Final Fantasy, but the conversation between gender constructions/roles/what have you and the D/s dynamic is always a fascinating one. Good luck with it!

There's one for Sherlock Holmes and a wip for RPF, but mostly the trope is found in SGA.

Fiction writing is still a little painful to me, but it's happening! I started a short today and my goal is to get it posted next week. I have also been having various ideas about various things so while the writing process is still stiff my brain is at least alert.

I know exactly what you mean. It's been so long since I've written anything fictional -- aches like working muscles that have been too long unused. But ideas and alert brains are good. And stretching (if I might extend my dodgy metaphor a bit) is good, too. Have fun and good luck with your short!
